    Curriculum:
    Curriculum is what is taught in a given course or subject. Curriculum refers to an interactive system of
    instruction and learning with specific goals, contents, strategies, measurement, and resources. The desired
    outcome of curriculum is successful transfer and/or development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

    Other Definition of Curriculum:


    “a description of what, why, how and how well students should learn in a systematic and
    intentional way.”

    Curriculum Development:
    Curriculum development is the multi-step process of creating and improving a course taught at a school
    or university. While the exact process will vary from institution to institution, the broad framework
    includes stages of analysis, building, implementation, and evaluation.

    Types of Curriculum Development:


     Subject-Centered Design
     Learner-Centered Design
     Problem-Centered Design
    Subject-Centered Curriculum Design:
    Subject-centered curriculum design revolves around a particular subject matter or discipline. For
    example, a subject-centered curriculum may focus on math or biology. This type of curriculum design
    tends to focus on the subject rather than the individual.

    Learner-Centered Curriculum Design:


    A learner- centered curriculum utilizes various educational experiences but the student becomes a
    participant in the decision-making process of designing and selecting educational experiences. Some
    examples of these activities include open debates, writing of newspaper articles, field trips, student-
    chosen projects, presentations, and written reflections on learning.

    Problem-Centered Curriculum Design:


    A problem-centered curriculum is a cross-curricular, inquiry-based, student-centered approach that is
    built around real-world problems.

    There are some major problems and issues that are faced in curriculum Development are as following:

     Curriculum is outdated
     Involvement of government officials
     Lack of academic research
     Absence of school teachers’ involvement
     Result of weak academic skills of researchers
     Lack of Sequence in topics of subjects
     Economic Problems of Country
     Inadequate Evaluation of subjects
     The curriculum is not accepted by the society
     Lack of Teaching Materials
     Teachers does not accept the change in curriculum
     Global Issues
     Language Issues
     Curriculum understanding issues

    Solution to Problems in Curriculum Development:


     Describe your vision, focus, objectives, and student needs.
     Identify resources.
     Develop experiences that meet your objectives.
     Collect and devise materials.
     Lock down the specifics of your task.
     Develop plans, methods, and processes.
     Create your students' experience.
     Model a useful problem-solving method.
     Help students understand the problem.
     Take enough time.
     Ask questions and make suggestions.
