    ii) The Damodar Valley Project built on the Damodar river and its tributaries.

    2. Explain the water tank irrigation.

    a) In the southern plateaus, the low lying areas get filled with water during the monsoon

    season.

    b) These are called tanks, this type of irrigation is called tank irrigation.

    c) It is mostly practiced in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
