Introduction :
Online education during COVID - 19, perception of academic stress and emotional intelligence
coping strategies among students. The purpose of this study was to analyze the perception of
academic stress experienced by students during current online education and coping strategies
using emotional intelligence adopted by them. Stress during the learning process is thought to
enhance memory formation while at the same time hinders memory retrieval. Stress can have
both a positive and negative affect on student outcomes.
In addition, distance learning was also found to be associated with stress, which is due to
academic, financial, and social difficulties.
Coping with stress is a way to minimize stress. According to stress and coping theory of
(Lazarus & Folkman, 1984)individuals are prone to psychopathological experience primarily in
the absence of health coping strategies. However some research suggests the balance
between the demands of work tasks and demands of personal life. The primary aim of the
current study was to explore to what degree differences in personal attributes can be affected or
compensated for in accordance with relations between the external influences of online
learning.

Research Problem :
The primary aim of the present study was to explore to what degree differences in personal
attributes can be affected or compensated for in accordance with the relations between the
external influences of online learning.

● What is the demographic profile of the respondents terms of:

1.1 sex
1.2 age
● What is the extent of the student-related factors in terms of:
2.1 Interest
2.2 study habits
● Does guidance consultation helps the students to deal with stress?

Hypothesis :
Managing stress is very vital to averting any negative effect of prolonged stress. Students
use various coping strategies in managing stress. Students support services such as academic
counsellors are expected to help students to
overcome challenges that face in the pursuit of their academic work. Stress in online learning
has been adopted internationally as the alternative teaching or learning strategy during the
coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) quarantine to fill the academic gap that has been created
by the existing reality of the pandemic due to nationwide closures.

Conceptual Framework :
The transition from students could cause psychological, academic and social shock to them
since this educational level has pronounced differences: the student will face new methods of
teaching, new academic requirements, new types of relations between students and faculties,
new living environment. Due to these changes, students can potentially experience different
types of stress that can affect their mental and social health and academic achievement.
Students of these levels can be encountered with academic stressors like tests, assignments,
projects and other requirements. Similarly, stress affects the psychological and physical health
of students. For instance, students with high levels of stress tend to perceive themselves as less
healthy, with low self-esteem and are prone to practice some health risk habits. According to
stress and coping theory of Lazarus and Folkman (1984) individuals are prone to
psychopathological experience primarily in the absence of healthy coping strategies. Thus, it
has been felt that conducting an empirical study to discover and understand the nature of the
coping strategies that the students use to deal with their campus stress is necessary and
momentous.

Theoretical Framework
The demand-control(-support) model (Karasek, 1979; Karasek & Theorell, 1990) has had a
significant influence in the research environment, and it's been used a lot to try to minimize
workload in cases where there's been a lot of it (Jerreholt & Martinez, 2017)The design is the
capacity of a person to live up to expectations.

According to (Lu, 1999) , there is a need for a balance between the demands of work tasks and
the demands of personal life.
The potential and technical challenges of using quantitative content analysis to analyze
computer conference transcripts are discussed in this paper. The paper is divided into six parts
that cover content analysis requirements, study designs, types of content, units of analysis,
ethical concerns, and analysis tools. A survey of 19 widely used terms is used to help the
debate by Terry Anderson, D Randy Garrison, Walter Archer, Liam Rourke (2000).
The link between smart device usage and stress and burnout has piqued the interest of
researchers all over the world. It is often asserted that machine exposure is harmful to one's
health and mobile screens has been linked to a slew of stress-related issues. The related signs
and symptoms. These may take the form of psychological, cognitive, or musculoskeletal
impairments, which can have a negative impact on a person's quality of life and ability to work
on a daily basis by Nour Mheidly 1

Literature Review
According to (Mheidly, Fares, & Jawad, 2020)Coping with stress and burnout associated with
telecommunication and online learning) because of the covid-19 pandemic it increases the use
of media applications that enable teleconferencing, telecommunicating, online learning, and
social relations. This enables us to face Gadgets in a long period of time and increase the level
of our stress and anxiety. Coping strategies to reduce stress is a necessary condition for
preventing the harmful effects
of prolonged stress(Kwaah & Essilfie, 2017). Coping strategies refer to the specific efforts that
people use to master, reduce or minimize stressful event. Coping is multi-dimensional and
involves various strategies of which some are functional than (Gnilka, Chang, & Dew, 2012) .
Chao (2012) identifies two important ways of managing stress; namely social support
and dysfunctional coping strategies. Social support such as seeking support from families
and friends naturally help people to manage stress.

Synthesis
The research studies were gathered to provide factual information and basis for the entire
content of the study. These provided knowledge and suggestions that helped the researchers
come up with the present study emphasizing the discussion of the 'Coping with stress in online
learning'.
In our study, According to (Nour Mheidly, Mohamad Y. Fares 2,3,4 and Jawad Fares) Coping
with stress and burnout associated with telecommunication and online learning because of the
covid - 19 pandemic it increases the use of media applications that enable teleconferencing,
telecommunicating, online learning, and social relations. This enables us to face Gadgets in a
long period of time and increase the level of our stress and anxiety.

Research Design
This research is a descriptive study of the students who has coping with their stress.
Descriptive research is also known as survey research because its use of instruments such as
questionnaires and interviews to gain information from participants. Questionnaires allow the
researcher to summarize of participants characteristics or to measure attitude or opinions of a
construct or topic. Educational and social science researchers often use descriptive research to
gain sight. And for us we will use also descriptive research to gain the information how the
students cope with their stress in online learning.

The Sampling
The researcher utilized random sampling as the sampling design. The researcher selects the
members inside a local area with equivalent opportunities to be picked. That point circulation of
surveys was accomplished for it will give a simpler method to comprehend.

The Instruments
The researchers decided to provide questionnaires as instruments to use, they can quickly and
honestly answer questions since the researchers were not able to personally conduct the survey
on the chosen respondents due to the crisis of pandemic. By the case of likert scale wherein
each statement in the questionnaire will be rated by the respondents using the scale below.

3. Does guidance consultation helps the students to deal with stress?

Using appropriate coping strategies to deal with stress. Guidance consultation is
generally considered as a process of helping someone to deal with their stress in online
learning.

Summary of Findings
1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents terms of:
1.1 sex 56% who participated in the survey were female
1.2 Grade level there are 7 Junior high students and 11 Senior High students
2. What is the extent of the student-related factors in terms of:
2.1 Interest and Study Habits
In the line with the findings of the study, the researchers recommended that teachers
and school guidance counselors should collaboratively guide students on how to cope
with their stress, study habits and interest, thereby enhancing their academic success to
avoid stress.
3. Does guidance consultation helps the students to deal with stress?
Counselors give the students a tip of advice on how to manage stress and helps the
student to know more about their self.

Conclusion
Recognizing stress and burnout resulting from telecommunication during pandemic is necessary
to develop effective mitigation strategies. Screening and surveying studies exploring stress and
burnout levels among the general population or other vulnerable groups are lacking. tool for
coping with stress rather than using it. This study investigated study habit and its impact of
stress in students. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers concludes that students
within the study have good study habit and also interest.

Recommendations
Adopting coping strategies that are practical and applicable during online sessions can
decrease the risk of psychological distress and preserve health and well-being.
1. Since most of the students are Senior High, it is recommended to have survey in junior
and college students
2. Since the students are not fully aware on how can they manage stress, the guidance
counselor can have a program like symposiums about it
3. A further study about coping with stress in online learning is recommended for more
understanding and information on how to manage stress
