Education is the passport of everyone to their future and every parents have the responsibility to sent
their children to school. For education should be the priority of every child, through education the
children develop their skills in every aspects of their lives to become more productive and life long
learners.
Many Filipino students wants to continue the K to 12 Program which it covers Kindergarten and 12
years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years
of Senior High School [SHS]). With the aim to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills,
develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education. Thus, Education for children in
the early years lays the foundation for lifelong learning and for the total development of a child.
Starting with Kindergarten as the foundation for lifelong learning and development, the 12-year
curriculum aims to give students the journey in education that they deserve . With the new curriculum,
graduates are fully equipped with the skills which can help them stand out to become more globally
competitive. That’s is why many of us need this curriculum and have to continue and pursue what is
started.
The K to 12 curriculum should still continue in the educational system of the Philippines for it prepares
the high school students to enter higher education and in the workforce. However, K-12 is the key to
the country’s national development. In achieving its success, cooperation and support of all involved are
important.
According to Armin Luistro (2015), Department of Education Secretary, the implementation of K-12
program has had its developments since 2010 including the improvements on the inadequacy of
facilities and materials. With regards to the new curriculum, its main aim is to further improve the
quality of education in the country through enhancing and improving the subjects taught at school .
Moreover, the continuation of K to 12 curriculum in the Philippines educational system is then the
answer of having opportunity of every child to invest for their future careers.
The idea of continuation of K-12 will not only improve the quality of education but also the lives of
Filipinos. As it ensure a better quality of education, provides job opportunities and a bright future for the
next generations.
