ANALYZE

Analyze the routines set by the Resource Teacher by answering the following questions.

1. Where the routines effective in ensuring discipline and order in the class? Why? Why not?
Yes, the routines of the resource teacher are an important factor in ensuring discipline and order in the
class. This because teachers can establish rules, regulations and procedures that students must follow
to ensure discipline is maintained. The teacher should make sure that all students understand what is
expected of them as well as how they will be held accountable for their actions. By establishing
specific routines, the resource teacher ensures that all students know what is expected of them so there
are no surprises or confusion about which behaviors are appropriate for a particular lesson plan or

activity.

2. Which of those routines were systematic and consistently implemented? Explain your answer.
Asking Questions during lesson: accomplish this task effectively and follow a set routine of activities
each day that help to keep discipline in order while providing an optimal learning environment for all
students.

REFLECT

Reflect on the various routines that observed.

1. Which of the routines will you most likely apply in your class? Why? Why not?
Working with pairs/groups: Pairing or groupings is an effective way to increase student engagement
and learning in the classroom. Pairing allows students to engage with content that they find difficult,
or that they are not interested in, while also engaging with content that interests them. In addition,
partner work has been shown to improve students’ ability to synthesize information, focus attention on
task-relevant information, and their ability to sequence tasks .
ACTICITY 6.2 Listing Down Classroom Rules

Resource Teacher: Teacher’s Signature School_________________________

Grade/Year Level: Subject Area: Date___________________________

OBSERVE

Observe a class and list down the classroom rules formulated by the Resource Teacher. Cite the
importance of these rules.

Classroom are imperative and must be reinforced for learners’ safety and security. Rules also teach
discipline and self-control. Rule eliminate stress and will provide a more pleasant, secured and non-threatening
environment. Rules ensure the students’ engagement and focus in their classroom activities.

Classroom Rules Importance

1. E.g Read directions well. - Ensures less error in answering the activity.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

ANALYZE

1. Analyze the given rule. What circumstances led to the formulation of the rule?

"No phones allowed in the classroom." This rule was likely formulated due to an increased prevalence of
students using their phones during class time. It is a measure to ensure that students remain focused and
attentive during lessons, rather than being distracted by their phones.

2. Are classroom rules really important?

Classroom rules are important because without them students will act out. Student behavior can be a lot like an unruly
mob that can’t be held back or contained. Those who don’t conform quickly become victims of bullying and those
who do get punished in some way. In order for children to learn there has to be structure and consistency throughout
the entire day. When those things change so does the learning environment for all involved.

REFLECT
Reflect on the various classroom rules set by the Resource Teacher. Will have the same rules? If not,
what rules are you going to employ? Explain your answer.

I agree with many of the rules set by the Resource Teacher, such as appropriate behavior, respect for others, following
directions and speaking quietly. However, I may modify some of these rules in order to meet the needs of my own specific
classroom environment. For example, instead of allowing students to take out their phones at any time during class like
the Resource Teacher did, I may decide that phone use should be limited to before or after class only. Additionally, I may
require students to raise their hand before speaking or ask questions so that everyone has an equal opportunity to
participate in discussions. Overall, while many of the same general rules will apply in my classroom setting as well, there
are likely to be variations depending on what works best for me and my students.

SHOW Your Learning Artifacts

Take some snapshots of the classroom routines employed by the Resource Teachers which are
worth emulating. Tell something about the pictures.
