V. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This three-unit course aims to develop a critical awareness of the role and functions of various organizational human resource
activities. Human resource management (HRM) comprises all activities involving the organizational workforce. It encompasses how employees are managed
based on the major human resource responsibilities of planning, recruitment, selection and placement, training and development, compensation and benefits,
and employee relations. Other HRM activities include job analysis, job design, performance management, career management, and employee discipline.
These HRM roles and functions significantly contribute to the operation, effectiveness, and success of the organization.
