teIntroduction to tools

Automatic wire stripper: A hand-operated tool or special machine designed to cut and remove the insulation for a predetermined distance from the end of an insulated wire, without damaging the solid or stranded wire inside.

Digital Vernier Calipers: Vernier calipers are used to measure distances between two symmetrically opposing sides. They are equipped to measure internal dimensions with one of the pair of jaws that are part of any vernier caliper. The other jaws are used to measure external dimensions. Digital calipers can be switched between centimeters or millimeters, and inches.

Internal Dia Caliper or Inside Caliper: The inside calipers are used to measure the internal size of an object and for measuring the internal diameter of anything. It has an adjusting screw that permits it to be carefully adjusted without removal of the tool from the work piece.

External Dia Caliper or Outside Caliper Outside calipers are used to measure the external size of an object. They are especially useful when measuring over very large diameter such as large diameter pipe and for measuring the external diameter of anything.

Wire Gauge:
Wire gauge is a measurement of how large a wire is, either in diameter or cross sectional area. This determines the amount of electric current a wire can safely carry, as well as its electrical resistance and weight per unit of length.

Crimping tool:
A crimping tool is a tool designed to crimp or connect a connector to the end of a cable. For example, network cables and phone cables are created using a crimping tool.

Screw Drivers: A screwdriver is a tool for driving screws and rotating other machine elements with the mating drive system. The screwdriver is made up of a head or tip, which engages with a screw, a mechanism to apply torque by rotating the tip, and some way to position and support the screwdriver. There are many types of screw drivers but the most commonly used are known as slot-head driver commonly known as 2-sided screwdriver and Philips head screwdriver commonly known as 4-sided screwdriver.

Try Square: A try square is a woodworking or a metal working tool used for marking and measuring a piece of wood.

Drill Machine:
A drill or drill motor is a tool fitted with a rotating cutting tool, usually a drill bit, used for drilling holes in various materials.

Riveting Gun: A rivet gun is also known as a pneumatic hammer. It is a type of tool used to drive rivets. Nearly all rivet guns are pneumatically powered.

Nose Pliers: Nose Pliers are also called as cutting and gripping pliers used to bend, re-position and cut wire. Their namesake long gripping nose provides excellent control and reach for fine work in small or crowded electrical enclosures.

Hammer: A hammer is a tool meant to deliver an impact to an object. The most common uses are for driving nails, fitting parts, forging metal and breaking up objects. The two most commonly used hammers are known as framing hammer and cross-peen hammer.

Measuring tapes: Measuring tape is a flexible form of ruler. It consists of a metal strip with linear-measurement markings. It is a common measuring tool. Its flexibility allows for a measure of great length and can be easily carried in a pocket.

File:
A file is a metalworking and woodworking tool used to cut fine amounts of material from a workpiece. It most commonly refers to the hand tool style, which takes the form of a hardened steel bar with a series of sharp, parallel ridges, called teeth. Most files have a narrow, pointed tang at one end to which a handle can be fitted.

Common Types of File: a)- Flat File: Flat files are the most common shape; they are rectangular in cross section and taper slightly in both width and thickness from tang to end. They are all single-cut.

b)- Round File: Round files, also called rat-tail files, are gradually tapered and are used for many tasks that require a round tool, such as enlarging round holes or cutting a scalloped edge.

c)- Half-rounded File: Half round ring files taper in width and thickness, coming to a point, and are narrower than a standard half round. Used for filing inside of rings.

Hex Key Set: A hex key (also known as L-Key set) is a tool of hexagonal cross-section used to drive bolts and screws that have a hexagonal socket in the head.

Screw Wrench: An adjustable spanner or adjustable wrench is a spanner (wrench) with a "jaw" of adjustable width, allowing it to be used with different sizes of fastener head (nut, bolt, etc) rather than just one faster, as with a conventional fixed spanner.

Pipe Wrench:
The pipe wrench is an adjustable wrench used for turning soft iron pipes and fittings with a rounded surface.

Soldering Iron:
A soldering iron is a hand tool most commonly used in soldering. It supplies heat to melt the solder so that it can flow into the joint between two workpieces.

Soldering Iron Stand:

A soldering iron stand keeps the iron away from flammable materials, and often also comes with a cellulose sponge and flux pot for cleaning the tip.

Pliers:
Pliers are a hand tool used to hold objects firmly, for cutting, bending, or physical compression.
