Reflexive and Emphasizing Pronouns

1. Usage of Reflexive Pronouns

- 如主詞 (subject) 和受詞 (object) 是同一人或物時,反身代名詞


便用來表示該受詞。

You must take care of yourselves.

It bites itself.

- 在一些動詞(verb)或前置詞(preposition)後面通常會跟反身代名
詞。

Verb: enjoy (____), introduce (____), amuse (_____), blame


(____), cut (____), hurt (____), dry (____)

Preposition: take care of, tell about, talk to, lives in


They enjoyed themselves tonight.

He talks to himself.

2. Usage of Emphasizing Pronouns

- 使用反身代名詞(reflexive pronouns)來強調主詞(subject)。

It itself goes home.

We ourselves make a delicious meal.

Common mistakes
☒ They should take care of themself.
☑ They should take care of themselves.
They 的反身代名词是 themselves, themselves 是不正确且没有这个字的。
