As a first step in managing your time better, you can analyze how you spend your time now. Each time you
perform an activity in the day, keep record of it in the duration column of the chart, located on the next page. You
might find you watch television in the morning, and record it, and then watch more television later in the day, and
add the time to the duration column of the same row. You can then see how much time you actually spend
performing each activity each day.

RESPOND
I am not happy that I spend more time on things that are not urgent and not important. I am happy that I
used the quadrant because it shows my habits and areas that I can increase productivity, even though I
am trying to have a balance life.
I need to improve on the amount of time I use to watch movies. I also need to work on starting important
assignment before the due date because it can be pressuring when I have to complete it on the due date.
3. Make a promise to yourself. Outline a specific commitment you can make moving forward. Think about
the suggestions put forward in class and in your textbook: the 2 minute rule, setting goals, prioritizing
(Covey’s quadrants), scheduling, saying no, delegating, and/or limiting interruptions.
Going forward I will try to use the Covey’s quadrant because I think it is an effect way to prioritize my time
and task on things that are important and urgent. I believe that this quadrant will help me with my habits
and also to be more productive.
