1. Overview

This release note covers all features intended for use in Binatone ADSL 2000 Ethernet-USB
Router with Firmware as below: -

2. Intended Audience

This release note is an Aztech internal document. Individual department like Marketing and
Sales should edit/amend as deemed necessary before sharing with customers.

3. Known Limitations

 Authentication name had been specified only to either “admin” or “user”. Could not change
these names.

4. Default Configuration

 ADSL Mode = Autosense – G.dmt first


 ATM Protocol = PPPoA VC-Mux
 PVC = 0/38
 Modem IP Setting = 10.0.0.2
 OAM Loopback = F4 and F5 End-to-End and Segment (on all PVC)
 DHCP Server Configuration
o IP Address pool = System Allocated
o Subnet-mask = 255.0.0.0
o Default Gateway = 10.0.0.2
5. Firmware Changes

 Current firmware release 21.19.3


 Changes from firmware 21.19.2 to 21.19.3
o In "config.reg" and "factory.reg", change LEDMode to 00000004 to solve issue of
USB LED blinking all the time regardless of whether the USB cable is connected or
not. Now USB LED should remain solid when USB cable is being connected
(provided USB Driver is completely and properly installed).
 Changes from firmware 21.19.1 to 21.19.2
o Changes specific for Binatone BT Testing:
 Increase is the Upstream gain to increase Upstream rates
 Set CRC monitor threshold to be min
o Resolves the PAP/CHAP selection bug
 Changes from firmware 21.2.2 to 21.19.1
o Set Default VPI/VCI to 0/38
o Set Default Encapsulation to PPPoA VC Mux
o Add Binatone Logo
o Change Web-Title to “Binatone ADSL 200 Ethernet-USB Router”
 Changes from firmware 21.2.1 to 21.2.2
o Tweak for IMS-HK in “factory.reg” and “config.reg” under,
[Class\Service\Showtime\AdslOption]
Changed to the following values for entries “0005” and “0006”
“0005”=dword:00000000
“0006”=dword:00000000
 Firmware 21.2.1 is the Initial Release for Binatone ADSL 2000 Ethernet-USB Router

6. Further Notes

 Updating of firmware
1. Open Internet Explorer browser.
2. At the Address bar type “10.0.0.2”.
3. Enter Admin ID and Password when prompt.
4. Click on Code Image Update.
5. Enter the filename in the empty file. You can also browse to the file by clicking
Browse button.
6. Click Upload button to upload the firmware to flash memory.
7. Wait for the file to upload finish. Do not turn off the router.
8. When “file successfully transfer!” is shown, click “Reboot” to reboot router.
9. Wait for all the light on the router to come on or wait for 50 secs, then refresh the
browser.
