ACTIVITY 3
Answer the following:
1. Discuss the relationship of nature and nurture to a child’s development.
 The term "nature" refers to a person's genetic makeup, or "nature," which
influences not just how they look physically but also how they behave
psychologically. Certainly compared, the term "nurture" refers to a variety of
environmental elements that have an influence on our personality traits, our
childhood memories, the way and location in which a kid is reared, our social
interactions, and our culture. Different developmental psychologists believe that
in addition to how nature and nurture influence physical development in children,
social elements such socio-environmental, socio-economic, and cultural factors
also play a role in human development. We are all born with particular genetic
qualities, and because we all grow up in various situations, we all acquire distinct
traits. However, genetic genes also play a role in determining how we respond to
the numerous environmental circumstances.

2. Explain Developmental Systems Theory. How can we apply it in teaching?

 A comprehensive theoretical viewpoint on biological development, heredity, and
evolution is provided by developmental systems theory. It highlights how genes,
environment, and epigenetic factors all affect how development happens. A
developmental systems approach stresses the intricate connections that exist
between people and their environment, the contribution that people make to their
own development, and the significance of perceiving a person holistically and in
the context of their real-life situations.
 Theorizing about developmental systems has substantial implications for early
childhood education and care. They offer a theoretical underpinning for
educational programs' main goal: to encourage good transformation in all
children. Given that this viewpoint suggests that positive change is achieved by
cultivating a mutually beneficial relationship between the individual and his or her
context, programs must remain flexible in order to achieve the best fit possible
between the diversity of the children, families, and communities involved in a
program. Individual relationships that have the potential to create at least some
positive change in any developmental trait.
