III. Learning Procedure

Teacher’s Activities Learners’ Activities

A. Preliminary Activities
a. Preparation:
1. Audio and Video Check

Good morning class, before we start let’s check if

everyone is ready for today’s class. Can you hear me
loud and clear?
Yes Teacher.

Are you able to see me? How about my presentation?

Yes Teacher.

Okay, great!

2. Checking of Attendance

Let’s start the class by checking your attendance. I will

call your names one by one, and please say present
with a smile in your face okay? Yes Teacher.

Lhaica Marie Sapad

Mary Jane Castillo (The students will say present once they
Joy Camille Navarro hear their name)
Jenalyn Sunga
Mia Jenine Pabustan
Danisse Ann Torres
Francis Ron Erick Atencio
Christian Noel Carreon
Justine Kyle Reanzares
John Fray Panlilio
Paul Alee Delos Reyes
Ariel Manuel

Wow! It’s great to hear that everyone is present.

Everyone please give yourselves a round of applause. (The students will clap their hands)

3. Prayer

Okay class, we all know that before we formally start

our class what do we do?

We pray, Teacher.

Yes, correct. We pray so that God will give us strength

and intelligence during our class. So let’s bow our
heads, feel the presence of the Lord for our prayer.

(The teacher will play a video prayer)

4. Greetings

Good morning class!

How are you today? How was your weekend?

We’re fine teacher. It was fun! How

about yours Teacher?

That’s great! I had an awesome weekend too. Thank

you for asking.

5. Passing of Assignment

So last Friday, I gave you an assignment about our

previous topic right?

Yes Teacher.

Okay, did you all ask help from your mommies and
daddies to upload your assignment?

Yes Teacher.

Awesome! I’ll go ahead and check that later.

b. Review

Before we formally start our discussion for today, can

anyone recall our topic last Friday? What did we learn?

Yes Lhaica?
We learned about Puppets, Teacher.

Correct! We learned about Puppets. Give me one type

of puppet.
Yes Christian?
Finger Puppet.

Correct! What else? Yes Justine?

Giant Puppet, Teacher.

Excellent! What else? Yes Joy?

Stick Puppet.

Amazing! 1 last type of puppet. Yes Mary Jane?

Shadow Puppet, Teacher.

Great! You guys are awesome and with that I will give
you 3 stars each for remembering our topic.

B. Enrichment Activities:

a. Motivation

Now who wants to play a game?

Me, Teacher!

Yes everyone wants to play a game. So Teacher Jen

had prepared just a short game that is connected to our
discussion. And I call this game, “Name Me”

I will be showing you pictures and you need to tell me

their names okay? So what do you see on the screen?

Yes Teacher. We see a shape.

Yes correct! Shapes. So I will show you the shape and

you will tell me the name of the shape okay? Great, let’s
start!

(The teacher will show the pictures one by one and the
students will answer)

C. Lesson Proper

So now that we are already aware that we are going to

talk about shapes. Do you see shapes around you?

Yes Teacher.

How many shapes do you see around?

A lot, Teacher!
A lot! Fantastic!

We are going to talk about the different types of shapes

we see. That will be 2 Dimensional, 3 Dimensional and
Abstract shapes.

Let’s start by talking about 2 Dimensional. Teacher,

what is a 2 Dimensional shape?

A 2 Dimensional shape or as we call it 2D shape, is a

flat shape that only has 2 dimensions which are length
and width. There is no thickness or depth in a 2
dimensional shape. So it is just like a flat surface or a
flat plane.

Now what are the types of 2 dimensional or 2D shapes?

We have ….

Circle
Triangle
Rectangle
Square
Pentagon
Trapezoid
And other more

Those are 2D shapes wherein they only have a flat

surface. Is it clear everyone?
Yes Teacher.
Do you have questions? None, okay can you give me
a thumbs up to show that you understand what a 2
dimensional shape is?
None. Yes Teacher.

Excellent! Thank you class. Let’s now proceed to 3D

shapes or 3 Dimensional shapes. What is a 3
dimensional shape?

So 3 Dimensional shapes or 3D shapes are solid

shapes or objects that have three dimensions which are
length, width and height. Unlike the 2D shapes, 3D
shapes takes up air and space.

These are examples of 3D shapes. We have …

Cylinder
Cube
Pyramid
Cone
Sphere
Cuboid

Do you see the difference between 2D and 3D shapes?

Yes Teacher.

Very good! If this is clear to you, show me a thumbs up

so we can proceed to our last topic of the day.

Yay! Thank you everyone!

For our last topic, we have abstract shapes. So what

are abstract shapes?

Abstract shapes are created by changing the most

basic shapes to create a simplified representation.
These shapes are used to design because they are
somehow rare to the basic shapes we know.
So if you can see, these are what abstract shapes are.
They look more like a design rather than shapes and
they represent something. This is a lot easier right
class? Yes it is!
Yes Teacher.

Is that clear everyone? One last thumbs up to make

sure that our discussion is clear.

Do you have questions or clarifications? None? Okay

great!
No, Teacher.
D. Developmental Activities

a. Application

Okay so for Teacher Jen to know if you really

understand our topic for today, I have an activity for
you! Are you excited? Yay! Great!
Yes Teacher.

So I prepared an activity here wherein I will show you

pictures and you need to tell me which is 2D, 3D and
Abstract shape. Is that clear everyone?
Yes Teacher.

Okay let’s start!

(The teacher will be showing pictures and the class will

determine which is 2D, 3D and Abstract shape)
E. Post-Activities:
a. Generalization

To summarize our topic for today, we have learnt about

2D, 3D and Abstract shapes. A 2 Dimensional shape is
a shape that has a flat plane or flat surface. It has length
and width. Can you give me an example of a 2D shape?
(The students will give examples of 2D
shapes)

Yes, very good! And as for 3 Dimensional shape, it has

length, width and height. A 3 dimensional shape takes
up air and space. Can you give me an example of a 3D
shape?
(The students will give examples of 3D
shapes)

Excellent! And lastly, for the abstract shape. Abstract

shape are created by changing basic shapes and using
it as a representation or design. So these are shapes
that are likely different from the basic shapes that we
have.

Is our lesson for today clear everyone? Awesome!

Yes Teacher.

b. Values Integration

Class, do you know why we need to learn about

shapes?

No, Teacher. Why?

The reason why we need to learn about shape is for

you to recognize the objects surrounding you. It is a
great help for you to identify the object around you. So
if you are going to travel around the world, you will be
able to see different shapes, it can be buildings, a
house, a chair, a computer and other more. That way,
we can easily use shapes to describe the objects we
are pertaining to. Do you understand class?

Yes Teacher.

Okay so that is the end of our discussion, thank you for

behaving and listening to teacher. And with that, please
give yourselves a round of applause because you just
earned another 3 stars for today!
IV. Evaluation

Direction: Define whether the pictures below are 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional or

abstract shapes. Write the correct answer after each picture.

1. ________________________

2. ________________________

3. ______________________

4. ____________________

5. ____________________

V. Assignment
In a long bond paper, draw 2 shapes each under the 3 categories which are 2D, 3D
and abstract shapes and label them. Don’t forget to color the shapes.
