AMENDING AND REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL


(BDC)

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of
1991, mandates that every barangay shall create a Barangay Development Council (BDC) which
shall be constituted in accordance with law to act as a planning and coordinative body in the
barangay.

NOW THEREFORE, I Nestor A. Buenviaje, Punong Barangay of Punta Tabuc, by


virtue of the powers vested in by law, do hereby ordain:

Section 1. Composition. the Following shall compose the Barangay Development Council.

Chairman: HON. NESTOR A. BUENVIAJE Punong Barangay


Members:
HON. ONIEL B. ARANDEZ Barangay Kagawad
HON. REYNALDO B. BARRIOS Barangay Kagawad
HON. EDILBERTO B. ARROYO Barangay Kagawad
HON. DIONESIO M. ROSE, JR. Barangay Kagawad
HON. GERARDO D. ROXAS, JR. Barangay Kagawad
HON. MA. ROSSANA F. ALCAZAREN Barangay Kagawad
HON. ROMEO D. DE FELIPE Barangay Kagawad
HON. REJEH MAR F. APOLINARIO SK Chairman
HON. REYNALDO B. BARRIOS Rep. of the Congressman
MRS. PERLA AGA NGO Representative

Section 2. Functions. The following are its mandated functions:

a. Mobilize people’s participation in local development efforts;


b. Prepare Barangay development plan based on local requirements;
c. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of national or local programs and projects;
d. Approve, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the LDRRMP and annually
review, test and develop the plan consistent with other national and local planning
programs;
e. Ensure the integration of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaption into
local development plans, programs and budgets as a strategy in sustainable
development and poverty reduction;
f. Recommend the implementation of forced or preemptive evacuation of local
residents, if necessary, and;
g. Convene the local council as provided by the Act and its IRR.

Section 3. Executive Committee and Functions.

a. The following shall compose the Executive Committee:

Members: SB Member HON. REYNALDO B. BARRIOS
NGO RepresentativeRENATO FRANCISCO

b. Executive Committee shall have the following functions


B1. Ensure that the decisions of the council are faithfully carried out and implemented.
B2. Act on the matters requiring immediate attention or action by the barangay council;
B3. Formulate policies and plans and programs based on the general principles laid down
by the council, and
B4. Act on other matter that they be authorized by the council.

Section 4. Secretariat. The secretariat of the Barangay Development Council (BDC) shall be
headed by the Barangay Secretary who shall be assisted by the City Planning and Development
Coordinator concerned.
