Values, Characters and Conduct
“Successful People know their
Personal Philosophy and
communicate it by living it
passionately everyday in all they say
and do. They have taken the time to
determine who they are, their values
and priorities. They know their
course...”
Crisis of Humanity
Values
By understanding our values and motivations
(purpose), we can be successful and happy by
staying true to our selves

Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys,
is a prime example as he is determined to
prove to the world that in India it is
possible to build a strong and successful
business without corruption. Initially,
because Murthy did not want to pay
bribes, it took Infosys a year for the
phone line to be installed. Although it
was difficult at first, the founder's
steadfast transparency spread
throughout the company, making it a
value that everyone admired

Self-centeredness can make you lose sight of your inner compass
The shrewd
Lack self-awareness and self-esteem and accomplish success
through cunning and aggression. They are politically minded, and
once they’ve attained power, they care little about the way they’re
perceived
The individualist
They deviate from their values. These are the managers who never
take responsibility but do everything they can to make their quotas.
They sacrifice a company’s long-term health for their own short-term
gain
Glory Seekers
People we all know. They work for and are motivated by outward
signs of success, like money, fame, glory, power and acclaim

Self-centeredness can make you lose sight of your inner compass
Loners
fatal flaw is their failure to develop personal support structures,
such as close relationships or mentors. Picture someone who
thinks they can – and must – be the lone wolf . Being so intently
focused on their objectives, they are likely unaware that their
behaviour identifies them as a loner
Instant success
They don’t have an integrated life. They rise too fast to learn from
their mistakes, and they never have time for family or friends.
Their sudden rise to power often leaves them overwhelmed by
personal and professional problems.
