    1. After learning the importance of digital technology in the practice of other allied health members
    during this critical time, what do you think can community health nurses do to reach out for their
    client/s in times of the pandemic?
    Today’s technologies become functionally available especially in amidst pandemic because
    utilizing digital technology may lessen the spread of virus and prevent personal contact. So that healthcare
    workers made a ‘telehealth’ in which they use digital information and communication technologies to
    access patient’s health concern and health status. Some may say regarding to its inaccuracy since the
    patient’s visual can be seen virtually. However, it is the most efficient method in order to obtain patient’s
    medical inquiry. While, number of people are still limited in a facility, whereas, immunocompromised or
    immunosuppressed are considered weak immune system such as the senior citizens, HIV patients, toddlers
    etc.
    Indeed, healthcare workers play a major role in this pandemic, an example of that is the community
    health nurses. Thus, I think the most appropriate and the least thing that a nurse can do to continue giving
    rightful care is to conduct medical mission which is for free. This kind of service is ought to teach health
    techniques and give proper consultations to the people who cannot afford to go to a hospital. Since the
    outbreak of covid 19 medical missions are cancelled, hence, with a help of community health nurses’
    medical mission shall barely take back. Especially now that the covid 19 influence continually subsiding
    and everything’s slowly falling back to its original places. The objective of medical mission is also to give
    free medicines or multi-vitamins that were available in stock for the outpatients. Moreover, it ought to give
    comfort to a people dying in pain whether it is mild or severe.
    Though it is understood how powerful the technology nowadays and a lot of people are
    knowledgeable enough to navigate it. But telehealth is only accessible for those people who have internet
    while for the people who can’t afford hospital bills medical mission is very helpful. Since almost half of
    the population of certain community has become less privileged due to economic problem of the country.
    Furthermore, they encouraged everyone to strengthen their immunity even if there’s an existing vaccine.
    Community health nurses are feasible wherein they could address proper inquiries by going into one’s home
    or initiating voluntary medical mission.

    2. Is Community Health Nursing still essential during the pandemic?


    Yes, community health nursing still essential during the pandemic regardless of the rapidly
    increasing of the covid cases. The Community Health Nursing improve the community’s quality of life in
    dealing with various problems that cause vulnerability to health problems and health risks; hence, their
    services consider being available at the primary health care level. As mentioned on the article, that there
    are shortage of medical personnel and specialists which were at risk towards handling covid-19 patients.
    However, community health nurses contributed to promoting optimal health by giving care in the
    community. The differences of community health nurse to other nurses are CHN were normally assigned
    to give proper care to people outside the hospital. Therefore, through CHN people who were outpatients
    can be reached directly despite of the pandemic. In addition to that, a lot of people lost their job and were
    afraid to go to a crowded place. Since CHN are normally done to an area that are accessible only to a single
    outpatient with its family, then transfer to another outpatient’s private area.
