ROLE PLAYING IN RE-CVF 102

STORY: THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS

CHARACTERS:

Mylene Competente- Virgin Mary

Jenny Rose Nardo- Mary, mother of James the younger and Joseph

Scene 1: Crucifixion and Death of Jesus


Introduction: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present to
you the presentation of MG group entitled the Resurrection of Jesus. Join
as we reenact God’s greatest miracle.

Narrator: At noon, in the place called Golgatha, or the Place of Skull,


darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. Then, at that time
Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which
means, “ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me”. Some were
there, watching there from the distance, including Mary Magdalene, Mary
and Salome.

(Mylene, Jenny Rose, Khryle Ann and Princess enter together with Von
on the cross)

Mylene: My son, my son, what they have done to you? (intense cry)

Scene 2: Pilate’s Headquarters


Narrator: After Jesus was crucified, people started to clear the place, as
evening is approaching, an honored member of the high council, Joseph
from Arimathea, who is a friend of Jesus Christ that is waiting for thee
Kingdom of God to come, gathered his courage and went to Pilate to ask
for Jesus’ body.

Alvin: Governor Pilate, I came here with respect to ask if I can keep the
body of Jesus.
Edrean: Is Jesus dead? Is he truly dead?

Alvin: Yes, governor. In that account, allow me to keep the body of


Jesus.

Edrean: Yes, you can.

Scene 3: Burial of Jesus


Narrator: After Joseph got the permission of Pilate, Joseph bought a long
sheet of linen cloth and takes Jesus’ body down from the cross. He
wrapped it in the cloth and laid Him in the tomb.

(Alvin enters carrying the cloth)


(Princess and Jenny Rose enters)

Alvin: Woman of Jesus, may I ask for your help in taking down the body
of Jesus?

Princess and Jenny Rose: Yes, it is for our lord Jesus Christ. (Both still
crying)

(Three of them will carefully wrap the body of Jesus with white linen)
(Background music is played throughout the act until Von is fully wrap)

(Alvin will put Von on a tomb)

Narrator: All this happen on Friday, the day of preparation, the day before
the Sabbath day.

Scene 4: The Resurrection of Jesus

Narrator: The next evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene,
Solome and Mary mother of James went out to purchase burial spices.
Early Sunday morning, they came to the tomb.

Princess: Let us hurry, guards may see us.

Jenny Rose and Khryle: Let us be on our way.

(Walks towards the tomb)

Jenny Rose: Mary Magdalene, who will gonna open the tomb? It is very
difficult for us since it is made of stone?
Khryle: Yes, Mary Magdalene, we have no power and strength to move
that stone.

Princess: Do not be hopeless, God is watching over us, I know we can


move it with ourselves.

(They reach the tomb, they will be in doubt that the stone had already
been moved and afraid of Claudine)

Khryle: Look, the stone has been rolled. (Face in doubt and surprised)

(Three will carefully check the tomb)


(They will be surprise by Claudine’s appearance)

Claudine: Do not be surprised, you are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene,
who was crucified. He isn’t here! He has been raised from the dead! Now
go and give this message to His disciples, Jesus is going to Galilee. You
will see him there, just as He told you before He died!

(All three will run trembling)

Narrator: The women fled from the tomb trembling and afraid, saying
nothing to anyone in a reason that they are too frighten to talk. They
when to the disciples of Jesus.

Princess: (stuttering) We, weee, wee… saw Je, Je, Jesus…

Khryle: Je, Je, Jesus is aliveeee.

Jenny Rose: Jesussss has riseenn! (stuttering and surprised)

Lesther: We do not belive you woman, Jesus is dead!

Paul: How come Jesus came back from the dead, we saw it with our eyes
that he had died!

Alvin: Where is your proof that Jesus is alive?

Princess: The angel of God told us and we saw it with our own eyes that
he is not in His tomb. (still afraid)

Jenny Rose: The angel said that Jesus is in Galilee…


Khryle: Let us go there…

Narrator: The women and the disciples of God go to Galilee to see the
risen Jesus Christ.

(Von will enter)

(Von will pass through Princess, Khryle, Jenny Rose, Paul, Lesther and
Alvin)

(All 5 will not recognize Von at first but they will realize that it was Von)

(They run towards Von)

Princess: My Lord, My Lord!

Jenny Rose: Let us rejoice, Jesus has risen!

(All kneel)

Von: Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone,
everywhere. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But
anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These signs will
accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in My name,
and they will speak new languages. They will be able to handle snakes
with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them.
They will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them.”

Narrator: The news had reached the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mylene: My son! You came back from the dead! Your father in heaven
did not break His promise. Rejoice and be glad my Son because the
heaven had helped you!

Von: Mother, be glad your Son has risen! However, I will go back to my
Father in heaven.

Mylene: My son do not worry, I am glad that you are back!

(Von and Mylene will hug)


Narrator: When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, He was
taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right
hand. And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord
worked with them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.
