Guidelines For The Radio Drama Production
Requirements:
*Script (to be submitted in hardcopy) - 20 pts.
*Recorded Production (recorded voice acting to be submitted in google classroom) - 30 pts.
1. The same groupings in the Essay Writing and Oral Delivery tasks shall undertake this new assignment.
2. Prepare a script, intended for radio drama based on either of these 2 short stories:
a. Footnote to Youth
b. Scent of Apples
note: The teacher will be the one to assign the story for each group.
3. Directions/Instructions must be written in English. Only the monologues and dialogues/conversations must be written
in either Tagalog or Hiligaynon unless conversations are between a Filipino and a native English speaker like an
American, a British, or an Australian.
Language for background or incidental noise depends on where a scene or scenes are set (when in America, for
example,
it is but appropriate that noises surrounding Filipinos conversing with each other are in English.
4. Avoid Narrators telling its audience what time of day and where a scene is happening or who are involved and what
they could be doing in that particular scene. Let the voice actors do the telling of the story.
5. Make use of appropriate music or sound effects to serve as a transition from one scene to another.
note: MSC stands for music while SFX stands for sound effects.
6. Below is a suggested format for the radio drama script:
Music (Instrumental of “Sa Kabukiran” play for 5 secs and down under for as music background while Dodong does his
monologue…)
SFX (sound of light footsteps and the rustling grass that is stepped on; faint mooing of a cow or meeing of a goat from some
distance around the farm)
Dodong: Ahh… m-ma amat amat ta ah! Ibangot ko lang ning si Kulas kag magpauli daw nagutom naman ko ah.
Music (Up again for 5 secs then fade under for as background music…)
SFX (Sound of more light footsteps on grass; warbling sound of water in the stream)
SFX (sound of utensils; more cricket sounds; faint barking of dog/s from some neighborhood; etc.)
7. Computer type your script on long bond paper using either Arial or Calibri font type at 12 font size. Observe double
spacing between lines. Write the names of each group member right after the title and some other details about the
