A. PRAYER everyone. Let's remain in this brilliant planet so that,
come rain or shine, we can see a soul of beauty.
Class let us all stand and feel the presence of Lord, help us to make good use of the time. Lord,
our God. Valen, please leadthe prayer. teach us to respect our teachers and classmates,
to always loveour parents, and to be good
B. GREETINGS everytime.

C. CLASSROOM SET-UP Good morning, Ma’am!

Before you take your sit, please pick those

II. ANALYSIS
Before we start our lesson I will call 11
pupils to pick letters on the box.
(name 11 pupils)
(each pupil will pick a letter on the box)
Now, arrange the following letter to forma
word. I will give you all 2 minutes to arrange the
letters. Your 2 minutes starts now. “ SOLAR SYSTEM Ma’am”

(after 2 minutes)
Vince, what is the arranged word?
Students: Yes Ma’am!
Do you have anything in your mind aboutwhat
will be our topic or lesson for today? “ SOLAR SYSTEM!”

DISCUSSION

Our Solar System is located in the Milky way’s

orion Star cluster which located ourSun.
Revolving around the sun are eight planets.
The planets are divided into two categories
based on their composition. It is Terrestrial and “ Teacher will flash some pictures of planet
Jovian. then students will identify what planet is it.”

Terrestrial Planets including Mercury, Venus,

Earth and Mars are primary made of rocky
Students: Mercury
material. Their surfaces are solid, they don’t have
ring system and relativelysmall.
“Teacher will discuss about planet Mercury.”
Teacher: Can you tell me what planet isthis?

Teacher: Great! That’s correct

Mercury
- The smallest and closest
planet around the sun is
Mercury, which has the
shortest orbit in the solar
System.

Teacher: How about this one ? Students: Venus

“Teacher will discuss about planet Venus.”

Teacher: Correct!

Venus
- Is the hottest planet with
temperatures of upto 867
degree F due to
atmosphere of carbon
dioxide and extensive
lava flows.

Teacher: The next picture is…. Students: Earth

Teacher: That’s Great! Earth is were welive.
“Teacher will discuss about planet Earth.”

Earth
- World of water. The
water systems on this
planet help create the
only known environment in
the universe capable of
sustaining life.

Teacher: and the last terrestrial planet is… Students: Mars

Teacher: Very Good students! “Teacher will discuss about planet Mars.”
Mars
The last terrestrial planet is
Mars. Might have also
supported life about 3.7
billion years ago when the
planet had a watery
surface and moist
atmosphere
Teacher: The next thing that we need totackle “Teacher will discuss about Jovian Planets.”
about is Jovian Planets.

Jovian Planets
The Jovian planets include gas giants
Jupiter and Saturn and Ice giants Uranus and
Neptune
“ Teacher will flash some pictures of planetthen
The gas giants are predominantly madeof students will identify what planet is it.”
helium and hydrogen and the ice giants
also contan rock, ice and a liquidmixture of
water ,methane and ammonia. All of this 4
giants have multiple moons, sprot ring
systems, haveno solid surfaces and immense
in size. Students: Jupiter!

Teacher: The first Jovian planet is….

Jupiter
- The largest jovian is
also the largest planet In
the solar system.
Students: Saturn

“Teacher will discuss about planet Saturn.”

Teacher: And the next planet is…

Teacher: Correct!

Saturn
- The second largest
planet in the solar
system. Its signature rings
are wide enoughto fit
between earth and moon
but are barely akilometer
thick.

Teacher: next picture is.. Uranus!

Teacher: Great! That’s correct. “Teacher will discuss about planet Uranus.”
Uranus
- The slightly bigger of
these ice giants is its
famous for rotating onit’s
side.

Teacher: And the last one is…. Students: Neptune!

Teacher: Correct! Give yourself five claps!

Neptune “Teacher will discuss about planetNeptune.”

- The outermost planetin
the solar system andalso
one of the coldest.

III. ACTIVITY

Activity 1. Unscramble the names of theplanets.

IV. ABSTRACTION

VALUING: Importance of knowing the

characteristics of the planets?
If you have knowledge about the
characteristics of the planet. We can easily
distinguish and understand that everything is
different and has a unique characteristic. Just
like humans we have individual differences.
The importance ofknowing the characteristic of
the planetsis that it used to study the planet’s
environment and it is also helps us understand
the important issues and events that happens in
our solar system
V. APPLICATION

Now I will group you into 4 groups then you

will illustrate through a diagram the members
of the Solar System, or how theplanets
revolved around the sun to their own orbit. "Yes ma’am."
Understand? "Yes ma’am."

GENERALIZATION
Class what have we discussed today? The Solar System Ma’am

Excellent , what is solar system?

The Solar System is sun and everything thatorbits
around it. It includes the planets andtheir moons
as well as numerous asteroidsand comets. These
Very Good! The Solar System is where our objects are all held in orbit around the sun by the

John, what is planet? Planets are celestial body moving in an

elliptical orbit around the star, Ma’am!

VI. ASSIGNMENT

I prepared an individual activity to test

whether you understand our discussion.
Identify the following

1. It is the planet nearest tothe

sun. ( Mercury)
2. It is the largest planet inour
solar system ( Jupiter)
3. Its signature rings are wide
enough to fit between earth and the moon
but are barely a kilometer thick. ( Saturn )
4. its famous for rotating on
it’s side. (Uranus)
5. Might have also supportedlife

7. Is the hottest planet with
temperatues of up to 867 degree F dueto

8. The outermost planet inthe
solar system and also one of the coldest.
(Neptune)
9. It is the second largest
planet in our solar system. (Saturn)
10. IT is the fourth closest planet to
the sun and can easily be seenfrom Earth.
