1. What is Star Delta Motor Controller?

A star delta starter is a most commonly used method for the starting of a 3
phase induction motor. In star delta starting an induction motor is connected
in through a star connection throughout the starting period. Then once the
motor reaches the required speed, the motor is connected in through a delta
connection.

2. Draw the circuit ( Power circuit and Control circuit) and explain how Star-
Delta Motor Control Works.

Two contactors stay closed while the starter is operating. The main
contactor and delta contactor are these two devices. The third contactor is a
star contactor, which only operates while the motor is starting and carries star
current when the motor is in the star condition. A third of the current in delta
state is present in star state. As a result, the contactor's rating is one-third of
the motor's rated current. The Main contactor KM3 and Star contactor KM1
are initially closed during starting. The circuit's timer is activated after a period
of time, opening the star contactor and closing the delta contactor. A timer
attached to the wye-delta starting control circuit is used to switch from the star
state to the delta state.
