NAME: ANGELO B. LABAYO

GRADE AND COURSE: BSED IIIB- ENGLISH
SUBJECT: PROF-ED 5 FACILITATING & LEARNING CENTERED
INSTRUCTOR: MR. EDGARDO B. ADALLA, PhD

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING:

1. What are the various forms of learner-centered classroom organization based on learners’ needs?

 Allow for student choice and autonomy

 Use open-ended questioning techniques
 Engage in explicit instruction
 Encourage student collaboration and group projects
 Encourage student reflection
 Create individual self-paced assignments
 Get the students involved in community-based activities and service-learning projects

2. How will you formulate classroom procedures and routines that promote discipline, fairness, and
care among learners and encourage learning?
MY CLASSROOM PROCEDURES AND ROUTINES
A good physical environment is the one that:
1. Increase the feeling of classroom community
2. Make students participative.
3. Produce successful learners.
4. Catches learner attention
5. Gives a student a sense of empowerment.
I want to create a discipline and fair classroom environment by:
1. Promote gender equality in all subjects.
2. Setting up a classroom culture of inclusion and respect.
3. Creating a Sense of Order.
4. Avoiding negative criticism or judgement.
5. Using positive approaches when educating students about acceptable and unacceptable
behaviors.

Respect and Care among my learners will be observed by:

1. Students
2. Teachers
3. Principal
4. Community
5. Parents
3. Design, organize and explain the significance of the layout of the physical structure of the
classroom for active engagement of learners, individually or in groups, in exploration, discovery,
hands on and self-learning activities;

● This is my simple layout of a physical structure of a classroom. Based on my layout I think it is better
to give learners a space to move and space to enjoy especially there are a lot of activities that needs space in
order to execute it. Upon entering the classroom, in the left side you can see the windows, teacher’s table and
computer. In the right side there is a bulletin board, book shelves, reading area, and storage for food or any
materials related to school works. In the front side, there is blackboard and television, and in the back side there
are computers intended for learners and beside that there is trash bin. It would be easy for learners to learn and it
would be easy for teacher to teach because the materials they can use is there and that is very important in a
classroom to have. Through this we can see the active engagement of learners.
"A structured classroom often translates to a safe classroom, one where students can enjoy themselves and focus
on learning. In a structured learning environment, students are more likely to thrive and experience personal
and academic growth." - Derrick Meador
4. Describe the roles and responsibilities of the teacher and the learners for a supportive, inspiring,
motivating and productive learner-centered classroom;
● In this module it was discussed here the roles and responsibilities of the teachers and learners for
supportive, inspiring, motivating, and being productive learner – centered classroom. The roles of teacher are to
share knowledge, role modelling, and an external parent. A learner should be an active participant where he/she
can listen, respect others, can learn on his own. Also, collaborative classroom really matters to develop the
capacity of learner and the teacher. Their role is very important to serve and sustain individuals need. We are
talking about being productive and that will really happen if they work together. For me, our role leads us to
progression and if you have role you know to yourself what you need to do.

5. Evaluate which disciplinary actions are positive and non- violent in the management of learner
behavior.
●Effective teachers choose positive and non-violent discipline that encourages positive behavior and
motivate learners to feel good about themselves and the decisions they make. It will aid you enriching your
practice by talking to the learner immediately after class. This is important to stop the misbehavior and
reestablish positive discipline. Show compassion and encouragement. Make your learners feel they are
important. Identify the reasons behind the learners’ behavior by asking them why they behave that way.
Knowing how they feel will help you understand why they did such action. They might have been seeking
attention. Listen and let them feel safe and respected by not sharing with others what they have told you. Your
learners confided in you because they trust you. Do not tell your learners that they will fail if they do not change
their behavior: that sounds like a threat. Elicit from them the possible consequences of the action. Then, guide
them in finding solutions to the problem. Transforming your learner’s behavior cannot be done overnight. There
must be clear and consistent communication. After talking to your learner after the incident, you should make a
follow-up meeting/ conversation with them. Make sure you build a mutually respectful relationship with your
learner and that will surely help in solving the problem through positive and non-violent discipline.
● Managing learner behavior is a difficult task. Even the most seasoned teacher understands that positive
discipline does not happen overnight. Managing learner behavior is a skill that every teacher must learn.
Classroom management begins before the students enter the room. Teachers have their own methods for
managing their students' behavior, but keep in mind that Individual learners must feel valued and respected.
Teachers must demonstrate a genuine interest in each of their students, not just as a class, but as individuals.
