As per rules, the benefits of reservations shown in the column 6 of the table shall only
be given to the candidates having the domicile of M.P. (India). It is essential for candiate to
provide the valid certificate proving the domicile of M.P. issued by the competent authority
along with Caste Certificate / Disability certificates (if applicable).
Candidates who are physically challenged will be given the benefits of reservation in case the
type & percentage of their handicap is certified by a competent authority & is more than the
minimum decided criteria.
One-third of the posts from each category i.e. UR, SC, ST & OBC are reserved for female
candidates.
2. Educational Qualifications / Experience and other criteria : The post-wise details of all
necessary educational qualifications / experience for selection on the aforementioned posts
are provided in Annexure-1.
Annexure 1
Mandatory Qualification
As per UGC Regulations 2018 together with all amendments made therein from time to
time.
For the Disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences,
Languages, Library Science, Physical Education, and Journalism & Mass Communication.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Eligibility (A or B) :
A.
i) A Master‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the
grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian
University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by
the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance
with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award
of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to
time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET :
Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009,
shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of
the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the
requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or
equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the
following conditions :- a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular
mode; b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners; c) An open
Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted; d) The Candidate has published two
research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal; e)
The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in
conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar
agency.

The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean
(Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in
disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test
accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
OR
B. The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking
among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the
following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the
Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University
(Shanghai).
Note:The Academic score as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, and
Appendix II (Table 3B) for Colleges, shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for
interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.
For Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Other Traditional Indian Art Forms like Sculpture, etc.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Eligibility (A or B):

system is followed) in the relevant subject or an equivalent degree from an Indian/foreign
University.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like
SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University
Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree)
Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be.
Provided further, candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be
governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances / Bye-laws / Regulations of the
Institutions awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the
requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or

B. A traditional or a professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement in the
subject concerned having a Bachelor’s degree, who has:
i) studied under a noted/reputed traditional Master(s)/Artist(s)
ii) Has been ‘A‘ grade artist of AIR/Doordarshan;
iii) Has the ability to explain, with logical reasoning the subject concerned; and
iv) Has adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in the discipline concerned.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Eligibility (A or B) :
A. Good academic record, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale
wherever the grading system is followed) at the Master‘s degree in Yoga or any other relevant
subject, or an equivalent degree from an Indian/foreign University.
Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC like
SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University
Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree)
Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time.
OR
B. A Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-
scale wherever the grading system is followed) and a Ph.D. Degree in Yoga* in accordance with
the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of
M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the
case may be.
*Note: Considering the paucity of teachers in the newly-emerging field of Yoga, this alternative has
been provided and shall be valid only for five years from the date of notification of these
Regulations
Note:
1. Wherever additional mandatory qualification is not mentioned, the minimum
mandatory qualification notified by UGC will be sufficient.
2. The provision of reservation in advertisement is as per the rules of Madhya
Pradesh Government. The provisional selection list will be subject to the final
decision passed by the Hon'ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh. ( विज्ञापन में आरक्षण

General Instructions
1. SUBIS, Sanchi Reserves all the right whether to fill up or not, any or all the vacancies
advertised without assigning any reason.
2. The Candidates are advised to go through the Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Criteria prescribed for the post before filling the online form.
3. When you apply for more than one post you should submit a separate Application and
processing fees for each post you apply for.
4. The appointment for the positions for Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant
Professor will be based on interview.
5. Candidates applying against post(s) reserved for Persons with Disabilities should
indicate whether he/she, belongs to SC/ ST/ SEBC/ EWS or General Category, wherever
applicable.
6. The appointment under reserved category will be provisional and subject to
verification of caste / creamy layer certificate and all other relevant certificates and
documents.
7. Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) candidates will be considered in SEBC
category only if they submit the required latest Non-creamy layer certificate as per
Government Norms.
8. The candidates already in-service have to submit a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from
his/her employer to the University along with application and/or at the time of
interview. Relaxation to the in-service candidate will be as per Government of Madhya
Pradesh and University rules.
9. The University shall verify the documents at the time of appointment or during the
tenure of the service. In case, it is found that any document submitted is
fake/misleading, his/her service shall be terminated forthwith.
10. Applications sent through e-mail will not be entertained.
11. Canvassing in any form may lead to cancellation of candidature.
12. In case of any dispute; any issue or legal proceeding by/or against the University,
Courts within whose local jurisdiction Headquarter of the University is situated shall
have the jurisdiction.
13. Candidates in their own interest are advised to remain in touch with the University
website (www.sanchiuniv.edu.in). They should also regularly check University website
for updates. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard and the candidates
are requested to check the University website www.sanchiuniv.edu.in regularly.
14. Application processing fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
15. The University will have the right to restrict the number of the candidates to be called
for interview on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum
prescribed or any other criteria that it may deem fit.
16. The University reserves the right to place reasonable limit on the total number of
candidates to be called for interview.

17. Citizen of India or any other country who qualifies all the required educational and
than Indian should provide the details of their valid passport and if selected, are
supposed to acquire a legal work permit to work in India.
18. Equivalance of any degree will decided as per the rule of University Grant Commission
(UGC)/ Association of Indian Universities / Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies.
19. Age Criteria - According to the prevalent provisions concerning the retirement, persons
who have completed 63 years on 01.01.2023 cannot apply. Age calculation will be
done on the basis of age as on 01.01.2023.
20. Application Fees :
Following is the details of application fees for different post.
All these fees are non-refundable. Foreign candidates can pay the application fees in
the Indian currency (INR) according to the exchange rates of the US Dollar as levied on
the date of advertisement i.e 13-04-2023.
It is the responsibility of candidates to ensure whether they are eligible for the
concession in fee or not. If the candidate has not paid the appropriate application fee,
it will be considered to be sole responsibility and necessary decisions may be taken by
SUBIS.
