    Baby Ladybug Toy

    Materials:

    – 1 Red Heart Super Saver – Black (A)

    – 1 Red Heart Super Saver – Red (B)

    – 1 Red Heart Super Saver – White (C)

    – Hook size: H

    – Yarn needle

    – Fiberfill stuffing

    – Scissors

    - 5 Large jingle bells

    Stitches you need to know:

    ch=chain, sc=single crochet, slst= slip stitch, magic ring

    Ladybug Rattle
    Head:
    With A ch 2

    Round 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook.

    Round 2: 2sc in ea sc around. (12)

    Round 3: *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from* around. (18)

    Round 4: *sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from* around. (24)

    Round 5-9: sc in ea sc around.

    Round 10: *sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc; repeat from* around. (24)

    Round 11: *sc2tog, sc in next 2sc; repeat from* around. (18)


    Embroider eyes and mouth.

    Fill halfway with stuffing, add large bell , then continue to stuff around bell until head is full.

    Fasten off . Leave tail for attaching.

    Body:
    With B ch 2

    Round 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook.

    Round 2: 2sc in ea sc around. (12)

    Round 3 – 45: sc in ea sc around.

    stuff with fiberfill (using a the back of a pencil can help with pushing the stuffing all the way down)

    Stuff until firm.

    Fasten off leave tail for attaching.

    Make a shape like in the photo below attach where shown.

    Antennae:
    With A ch 9

    sc in 3rd ch from hook sc in ea sc to end. Fasten off leave tail for attaching.

    Dots (Make 6):


    With A make a magic ring

    Make 6 sc in magic ring.

    Tighten ring slst in 1st sc.

    Leave tail to attach to body.

    TRIANGLE RATTLE:
    3 Balls:
    1(A), 1(B), 1(C)

    ch 2 with given color

    With A ch 2

    Round 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook.

    Round 2: 2sc in ea sc around. (12)

    Round 3: *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from* around. (18)

    Round 4-7: sc in ea sc around.

    Fill halfway with stuffing, add large bell , then continue to stuff around bell until ball is full.

    Round 8: *sc2tog, sc in next sc; repeat from* around. (12)

    Fasten off.

    Leave tail for attaching to beginning of rod.

    Rods:
    1(A), 1(B), 1(C)
    ch 2 with given color

    Round 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook.

    Round 2: 2sc in ea sc around. (12)

    Round 3-13: sc in ea sc around.

    Stuff.

    Fasten off leave tail for attaching to ball.

    Attach together so it looks as it does in top photo.

    BALL:
    With B ch 2

    Round 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook.

    Round 2: 2sc in ea sc around. (12)

    Round 3: *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from* around. (18)

    Round 4: *sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from* around. (24)

    Round 5: *sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from* around. (30)

    Round 6: *sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from* around. (36)

    Round 23: *sc2tog, sc in next 5 sc; repeat from* around. (36)

    Round 24: *sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc; repeat from* around.(30)

    Round 25: *sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc; repeat from* around. (24)

    Surround bell with stuffing.

    Fill about ¼ of the ball with stuffing.

    Place bell and stuffing in ball.

    Continue to stuff ball trying to keep the bell in the center of the ball, until it is firm.

    Round 26: *sc2tog, sc in next 2sc; repeat from* around. (18)


    Round 27: *sc2tog, sc in next sc; repeat from* around. (12)

    Round 28: *sc2tog, repeat from* until hole is closed.

    Fasten off .

    Weave in ends.

    Dots (Make 12 black and 6 red):


    With given color make a magic ring

    Make 6 sc in magic ring.

    Tighten ring slst in 1st sc.

    Leave tail to attach to ball.

    Large Dots (Make 2):


    with A make a magic ring

    Make 6 sc in magic ring.

    Tighten ring slst in 1st sc.

    Round 2: 2sc in ea sc around. (12)

    Attach to bottom and top of ball. Attach at dashed line.
