1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 SHELL DRAWING DESIGN

The shell drawing design is an optimization procedure for the structure and architectural
drawing provided by main-contractor / consultant. GETO engineer will provide the
suggestions regarding the structures which can be casting with the aluminium formwork and
casting together with the main structures and will counter check the structures’ dimension in
the structure drawing i.e. wall schedule, beam schedule, slab details etc. and architectural
drawing.

1.2 MODULATION DRAWING DESIGN

After the shell drawing design completed and approved by client, GETO aluminium formwork
designer will proceed the modulation drawing based on the approved shell drawing.

Site will be provided with a set of formwork drawings as the followings;

1) aluminium formwork layout plan, elevation drawings and 3D model indicating the general
arrangement, location of formwork components and its accessories.
2) Formwork support system, formwork slab and connection details
3) Location of weep holes, inspection opening, formwork opening for transfer formwork,
concreting hole, etc.

2. PREPARATORY WORK
2.1 PACKAGE & STORAGE

The package of the formworks will be followed the guided chart which divide the storey
layout plan by zones and all the formworks will be stick a coding chart for the installation
numbering.

Prepare field for goods stacking

formworks for each block, should prepare fields where are the nearest to this block for goods
stacking in advance, it makes crane work convenient.

Note: it's about 700 m² of aluminium formwork per truck, covers an area of 150m².

2.2 DISCHARGING REQUIREMENT

Be sure to put goods separately on site as per to their area

and items.
1)Put wall formworks on the top.
2)Don't place beam slab at the bottom of deck.
3)Accessories should be placed separately with formworks.
4)Waler and hollow section cannot be placed at the bottom
of the goods.

2.3 CHECK & ACCEPT

Discharging

Count quantities of packages at first after unloading goods, and check the accessory numbers
(props, raking shore, tie rod, screw and nut, iron hook, hammer, working bench) according to
its corresponding lists. Make signature on lists after having confirmed.

2.4 HOISTING SAFETY

3. ASSEMBLY WORK

3.1 LEVELS AND MARKING

Before pouring the concrete on the upper layer, place the formwork thickness control pieces
at the root of the shear wall. The first row of control pieces should not be more than 100mm
from the main reinforcement of the shear wall, should not be more than 300mm from the
internal corner, and the spacing of control pieces should not be more than 2m, so as to ensure
the flatness of the root of the shear wall and avoid the concrete ground unevenness during
the installation of the wall column formwork.

Set the wall control line at 300mm outside the wall column according to the main control line,
after the control line of the wall is set and all the control lines are checked and confirmation,
the wall column edge line is popped out through the wall column control line and the wall
column edge line tolerance is controlled within 2mm.

After the concrete casting of the floor, welding the positioning rebar at the 50mm-100mm
height of wall reinforcement from the floor level, The length of the positioning rebar is
determined by the wall thickness, and the welding is determined by the wall line popping
up,The tolerance between the rebar and the wall control line should be less than 2mm to
ensure the wall thickness of the lower part of the shear wall when the formworks is installed.

After concrete casting is completed,Mark the 1-meter level line on each shear wall steel bar
in time,Each shear wall corner side steel bar must be given a leveling point,The wall length
over 3 meters must be added a leveling point in the middle of the wall,Spacing of each level
point is 1.5m~2m for the inspection of floor height, At the same time, marking 1m line on the
support of the slab formworks to counter check the floor height.

Note:Positioning rebar is the most important step to install aluminium formwork, directly
affects the quality of installation and measurement data.

3.2 FORMWORKS COATING

Before the assembling aluminium formworks, cleaning and coating (release agent) is required
at the surface to form a slippery soap film that prevents from sticking and concrete buildup
aluminium form surfaces, it protects and prolongs the useful lives of the aluminium
formworks.

Note: The formwork coating (release agent) should be used of recommended Form Oil and
need to be re-coating if encountering the heavy rain.

3.3 WALL FORMWORKS ASSEMBLY

The inner wall formwork installation starts from the inner corner, and extends to both sides
according to the coding chart , In order to prevent the formwork falling down, it should be
temporarily fixed with diagonal support (wood square, steel pipe, etc.). The flat-tie should be
installed together with the internal wall formwork. Once the initial wall corner formworks are
assembled, commence to erect simultaneously the balance of wall formworks from either side
of the internal wall formworks. Then proceed to assemble the external wall corner. Place these
formworks into the correct position on the lines which were set up by the surveyor. Proceed to
assemble the balance of external wall at both sides.

The vertical formwork is generally nailed by one set of pin&wedge per 300mm , and the
horizontally stitched formwork end pin must be nailed, the pin is placed from top to bottom
to avoid shaking when vibrating the concrete and the internal and external walls are to be
held together by Flat-Tie .

The installation procedure :

balcony (it is needed to brush release agent), the balcony cannot be installed until the rebar
banded.

The beam bottom formwork can be pre-assembled on the floor, and the beam bottom
formwork is connected as a whole set. Assemble the beam bottom formwork、prop head、
inner corner formwork according to the coding chart,Note that the prop of the prop head
must be in the same vertical center line with the bottom of the lower beam to ensure the
safety of the RC structure.

After leveling the bottom formwork of the beam by adjusting the beam support, Begins to
install the beam side formwork, all formwork with horizontal connection, the pin and wedge
must be inserted from top to bottom to avoid the pin and wedge falling down when vibrates
in casting concrete , which will cause the formwork blasting and affect safety.

Middle Beams and End Beams of slab formwork installation begins after installation of the
inner corner formwork at the top of the wall/beam was completed, In the process of
Middle&End beams installation, the support should be installed below every Middle&End
Beam , after the Middle & End Beams installation completed, begins to install the slab
formwork based on the coding chart, all the props should be vertical and not loose. Adjust
the support after the slab formworks completed in each zone.

support.

(3) Support system every three layers of rotation.

(4) Each layer of dismantling the wall formwork, need to be fixed with a piece of
slab(through the data , the first piece of removal formwork is the most easily damaged)
formwork dismantle first.

(5) In order to ensure the quality, each layer positioning reinforcement needed.

(6) Geto formwork is strictly as per the slab after pouring the concrete surface bare test
data 5mm standard design and production, so according to the standard installation
assemble is complete can achieve 5mm quality inspection requirements.

(7) Kickers must be checked for alignment using a string line: A straight kicker will ensure the
wall on the next level is also straight.

(8) Do not open the wall formwork from the middle or bottom as this can damage the wall
formworks, the uneven surface of the concrete slab can snag the wall heel, causing
excessive pressure at he bottom.

(9) We should start to remove formwork from one end, from top to bottom, to prevent falling
injuries and avoid accidents.
