new lesson Today you will be going to learn another
lesson in Mathematics-3 Quarter 3.

Are you ready class? Yes, ma’am!

Okay, before we start let’s have a short

drill first.

A. Drill
Identify the term represented by
the jumbled letters. You may use
the words given in the box as your
references.

endpoints line points

rays line segment arrow head

Question: What word can you make out

of the jumbled letters from 1-6?

1. ysra
1. rays
2. nedipston
2. endpoints
3. elin
3. line
4. elin mentseg
4. line segment
5. isoptn
5. points
B. Motivation

Let the pupils recite the given poem.

Points and lines The pupils recite

the given poem.
That’s how it starts

Making all the figures

Using points and lines.

The poem tells
Ask: What does the poem tell?
about points and

That dot, represents a point.

Say: So today, you are going to learn

about points, line, line segment and rays.
C. Presenting Look at the following two pictures.
examples/instances of
the new lesson What have you noticed?

What does the thing that has red It represents

mark/circle represent? point.
Very good!

Each picture shows a dot which

represents a point, and it can be named
with letters.

For example, points can be read as:

R M S

(point R) (point M) (point S)

Reminder: Any letter can be use in

giving name to a point.

How to measure a point?

A point can be find in any kind of

objects, however it has no exact size nor
length.

For example, this rectangular shape is

formed through the use of points. And
we can draw lines in connecting every
points. We can name these points as:

A B

D C

How many points does rectangle have? 4 points.

Very good!

Next, let’s tackle about lines, line

segments, and rays.

What is line?

Line is made up of 2 or more points. It

has an arrow head on both ends. And It
can be extended indefinitely.
C D
CD

DC

What is ray?

Ray is a subset or a part of line that has

one endpoint and one arrow head. And
it can be named with two letters only in
the direction that is going forever.

X Y
XY

What is line segment?

Line segment is a subset or part of the

line that has two endpoints in both
ends, and has length.

concepts and practicing
new skills #2 (Quiz bee)

Learners will be grouped into 3 groups.

Each group has a corresponding colors
of papers

(blue, yellow, red) wherein they will

write here their answers about the given
questions. After reading the questions,
each group will write their answers on
the papers given to them and they will
stop answering after the 5 seconds, then
they will raise the paper to show their
answers. The team who will get the
correct answer, will get the point.
