This is a retrofit unit. The ventilation near the unit is poor.
Operating pressure is 6.9 bar and noted working in good order without any alarms.
The compressor runs continuously in off load mode. When demand arises, loading takes and pressure is buildup.

Sludge/Garbage management system

Total sludge retention capacity is about 199 m3. All the efforts are being carried out to control the sludge
generation. Fuel and other filters are cleaned using compressed air. Presently sludge mainly consists of water which
is from the purifiers (HFO, ME LO and AE LO Purifiers). Sludge generation for the month is approximately 1% to
1.5% of total fuel consumption.
TPP is the sludge discharge port. Sludge discharge is on Owner’s account.

Sludge line modification: The sludge line modification was done previously. Class has already approved the
drawing. Air-driven wilden pump is also installed in the sludge line which is used during sludge discharge.
Waste oil tanks are regularly used for evaporation and keeping sludge ROB under control during long voyage.

Waste oil tank extraction fan was overhauled on 9th Jan 2022 along with the motor. Mist box line was found
chocked. The drain line and the mist box were also completely cleaned. An arrangement is made for blowing this
drain line using compressed air on 18th Jan 2022.

Sewage treatment plant: Taiko Kikai Shipclean SBT-40

STP is biochemical type designed for BLACK WATER ONLY. Capacity is 40 persons. Toilets on board are
conventional type.
STP discharge and grey water are directed to clean drain tank in US waters and during China coasting and overboard
discharge is kept shut and locked.
The system is working in good order. Clean drain tank is the designated gray water tank. Weekly residual chlorine
content is checked and logged. Monthly backwashing of the chambers is carried out. Clean the level sensor probe
on weekly basis to avoid overflowing of STP as the pump cut in, cut out and High level alarms share a common
sensor probe.

Spare motors kept near the sewage treatment plant. Sufficient chlorine tablets are in stock
Bunker Management & Fuel regulations 2020
Currently vessel uses only three grades of fuels i.e., HSFO, VLSFO, LSMDO/LSMGO.
Vessel has 245 MT of VLSFO in no-7(p) tank, reports of which is bad & not to be used.

Vessel has total 12 no’s storage tanks for HSFO. 2 no’s storage tanks for LSMGO/LSMDO. No 8 HFOT (P &S) lines
had been modified under previous management in order to designate these two tanks for ULSFO.
Please note, although designated and named as ULSFO, but the supplied fuel is distillate grade LS fuel, i.e. DMA01,
RMD 0.1%S i.e., similar grade to the fuel in DO storage tanks.
As you must be aware, new MARPOL regulations in force from 01 Jan 2020, requires ships to either
 Use compliant fuel i.e., fuels with less than 0.5% sulphur.
OR
 Requires suitable abatement technologies to be installed (such as Exhaust Gas Scrubber) in order to use fuel
more than 0.5% Sulphur.
Since this vessel is fitted with Exhaust Gas Scrubber system, vessel is using fuel containing less than 3.5%
Sulphur.
In the present route Vessel takes max Bunkers at Singapore and top up at Newark/ TPP if required.
