Dear Sirs,
With reference to above, Damodar Valley Corporation is pleased to place order on you for "Rate Contract for
repairing of AC LT motors (upto 30 KW) for IPH(E), OPH(E) and CHP(E) of 2x500 MW DSTPS, DVC,
Andal" as per description of work, scope of work, quantity, rate, Total Amount and Terms & Conditions as stated
herein below:

3.0 PAYMENT TERMS:
90% payment (on executed value),along with all For All Tasks
taxes & duties will be made , through RTGS within
15 working days against submission of bills in
triplicate after statutory deduction as
applicable, subject to satisfactory completion of the
jobs duly certified by EIC/controlling officer , after
delivery of motor at DSTPS Site and successful trial
run.
Balance 10% along with full taxes & duties will be
released after completion of the contract , suitably
covering the entire guarantee/warranty or defect
liability period (if any) along with a claim period of 6
months.
4.0 LD CLAUSE:
(i) DVC reserves the right to recover a sum equivalent to 0.5% of the delayed work for each week of delay
or part thereof subject to maximum of 5% of the total value of the order as Liquidated Damage due to
delay in completion of work attributable to the contractor.

9.0 TOOLS AND TACKLES:
The contractor shall supply all the materials, labour and T&Ps required for the job. In case the motor/Coil
is to be repaired at site, the contractor shall be provided free power, if necessary. DVC, DSTPS will not
provide tools and tackles.
10.0 DELIVERY PERIOD:-
Description of Job Delivery period (From date of Dispatch)
In case of emergency as a special case, delivery is to be given at the earliest possible time as mutually
agreed.

17.0 CONTRACT PERIOD:
The contract shall be valid for a period of 02 (two) years /730 days, from the date of commencement of
work.. The date of handing over the motor to the Vendors, shall be within the contract period. The contract
may be terminated within the contract period, without showing any further reason, if performance is found
unsatisfactory by DVC. Please ignore "Contract period " 730 days from the date of issuance of order as
mentioned in clause no 5 under "Terms & Conditions"of Purchase Order..
18.0 TECHNICAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:-
a) The winding wire should be of same size and quality with same class of insulation as original or as
specially stated by DVC for higher class of insulation.
b) All the rewinding/repair works has to be done with use of best quality materials and as per standard
norms and practices. .
c) For repairing and insulation all new material must be used.
d) For rewinding no jointing/brazing of copper wire would be allowed.
e) Inspection: DVC reserves the right of stage/final inspection of any job at repairer¿s shop at their
discretion.
f) All tests should be done as per applicable IS standard using accurate instruments. Instruments should
carry valid calibration certificate for accuracy. List of testing & measuring instruments along with Xerox
copy of their calibration certificates should be enclosed with the bids.
g) The party has to collect the faulty motor from DSTPS site. The party has to follow the Gate pass rule for
taking out the materials. The offer should be included with the carrying charges of the motors.
h) The contractor shall be asked to note down all the parts of the motor before taking over and return the
same after repair.
i) The Contractor shall maintain a register to record Description of Stator/Rotor/Bearing housing taken out
for repair, date of dispatch, date of delivery and test results throughout the period of contract.
j) If repaired motor fails within six months of repairing, the same has to repair again free of cost.
k) DVC may ask the repairer to furnish documentary support to establish quality of copper and insulating
materials used for rewinding.
l) The party has to collect the faulty motor within three days from the date of reporting him.
m) The work is to be done to the full satisfaction of the DVC Engineer. The work should include proper
termination of winding leads with adequate capacity and of proper quality. The vibration ( if any)of the
motor shall be within permissible limit. The motor received back after repair may be subject to trial run at
our site. The job shall be considered as complete only when all the tests are carried out satisfactorily and
subsequent trial run at our site. In case of failure, the contractor shall have to repair it again free of cost.
n) All the old scrap copper/insulating materials shall be retained by the contractor.The Bidders should
quote their rates, in their offer, deducting price of scrap copper etc.
o) The motor, after delivery, shall be run on trial for 8(Eight) hours at our works and the job shall be
considered complete in all respect only after satisfactory trial run.
The work will be effective after issuance of WO & as per intimation given by the officer in charge.

25.0 OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS :
25.1 Workers compensation:-- All the workers under the contract must be paid compensation as per
Workmen's Compensation act in case of injury or death in course of employment while on duty, by the
contractor at his own cost. The contractor shall be solely and wholly responsible for any accident that
may occur during execution of the work and also for injury to person/persons or damage to the
property of any description whatsoever caused during the execution of the work. In the event of any
such accident, the contractor shall be responsible and shall pay proper compensation for the same as
per Workmen's Compensation Act. The contractor shall keep the owner i.e. DVC safe, harmless and
indemnified against all claims and expenses, for any such damage or injury etc. to any person or
property. The party shall also be make adequate provision of insurance for their own employees at
their own cost to cover them against the risk of accident
25.2 Safety of Working Personnel- The contractor/Vendor shall be solely and wholly responsible for
safety and security of employees engaged in the job and the DVC property. In case of any accident, the
party shall pay proper compensation to the employees as per Workmen¿s compensation ACT and
repair/ replaced DVC property at their own cost and arrangement. DVC in no way shall be responsible
for safety of contractor¿ s workmen. Contractor should supply the necessary protective devices for
safety of their workmen and contractor will ensure that necessary safety precautions have been taken
for contractor's workmen.
25.3 Execution of the contract:- within the fixed time schedule. DVC engineer shall have right to
intervene at any stage of the execution of work. During execution of the contract, as well as , after
expiry of the contract period the party shall ensure that none of their employees/workers including
himself shall claim employment in DVC.
25.4 Accident:-- In case of any accident of contractor's workmen, contractor are to arrange necessary
prima facie requirement immediately after the incident. DVC shall in no way be held responsible to
compensate contractor workmen be it on duty or not. No benefit in any form shall be admissible in
such case
25.5 Discipline:-- The contractor's employees should maintain proper discipline and behavior and do not
cause any hindrance to smooth running of the Power Plant or in execution of duties by DVC, DSTPS
Employees. The staff engaged by the contractor should not be under addiction of drug/liquor while on
duty at owner's premises. It would be obligatory on the part of the contractor to remove any such
worker from the job whose action or conduct in the opinion of DVC Management is detrimental to the
interest of Corporation. Controlling Officer is fully empowered to ask the contractor to withdraw any
worker/workers on charges of misconduct, incompetence/ negligence in discharge of duties and such
worker/workers may not be deployed without his permission
26.0 ACCEPTANCE: Please acknowledge receipt and convey your acceptance by returning the duplicate copy
of this Work Order duly signed with company seal and date within 10 days to the Work Order Issuing
Authority.
