Tips and tricks for OET reading part B & C

➢ EPISODE-1 : [[ [Use of ‘’ however ‘’ ]]]

In most cases , sentence that starts with ‘’ HOWEVER ‘’ contains the information of the answer…

➢ EXAMPLE :

Question: the guidelines require those undertaking a clinical medication review to

(A) Involve patient in their decisions
(B) Consider the cost of any changes in treatments
(C) Recommend other services as an alternative to medication

Annual medication review:

To give all patients an annual medication review is an ideal to strive for . In the meantime there is
an argument for targeting all clinical medication reviews to those patients likely to benefit most.
Our guidelines state that at least a level 2 medication review will occur , i.e. the minimum standard
is a treatment review of medicine with full notes but not necessarily with the patient present.
HOWEVER , the guideline go on to say that all patient should have the chance to raise questions and
highlight problems about their medicines and that any changes resulting from the review are
agreed with the patient .

➢ SPECIAL NOTE :

Do NOT follow this trick blindly… you still need to read the entire text carefully.. but yes , whenever
you see the word ‘’ however ‘’ please have a double look at that sentence.
