presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of
learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.

and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson idea implementation:

Students will begin the lesson by refreshing the life cycle of a human with me. We will refresh
how start as babies, then toddlers, then children, then adolescents, then adults and finally
into seniors. Students will then be asked to pick a pair to work with, and they will log into
Microsoft and I will give them a link to my Sway as an example. They will then pick an
organism and research the life cycle of their organism and present it in a sway such as mine.
Feedback will be provided throughout the whole process. Students will then present their
finished product to the class.
Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology:

Students will be asked to co-engage with their pair. They will first on their own research
the life cycle of their organism and then come together to create one set cycle to produce
into their Sway.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):


Engagement: Students will be allowed their own time to explore the web for research of the
organism of their choice.
Representation: Students will be given an example from the teacher to guide them into
making their own.

This activity will allow for quiet time, collaboration time, and finally presentation, creating
different scenarios for a wide variety of learners.

Reflecting on enhanced learning:

I am excited to see the presentations! Seeing student’s work and the work they create when
they are collaborating is always exciting. I am hopeful this will teach students to use this tool
in other projects.
