 SUBJECT PORTIONS

Reading: Duration: 1 minute

Read a given passage from ‘Wonder’. Students will be assessed on the following reading criteria: pronunciation,
volume, pace and pitch, pause (using punctuation to give appropriate pause) and intonation, and clarity
Speaking: Duration: 2 minutes
Speak on a topic given on the spot. Students will be assessed on the following speaking criteria: organisation of
content; choice of vocabulary; volume, pace and pitch; fluency; delivery (matching of speech and purpose); body
language and gestures.
Listening: Listen to a given audio and answer the questions.(15 minutes)
Writing:
Unit 4 — structural choices to help the reader, language and punctuation to express formality, impact of bias, write a
persuasive speech, techniques used to establish voice, personal response to texts, how to create an effective setting,
language techniques to establish setting and mood, withholding and revealing information, analyse climax of a
narrative.

Unit 5 — language and structure of argument texts, writing an effective argument, writers combining techniques for
ENGLISH -FLE overall effect, writing a personal response to a character, creating realistic dialogue, using language to present a
character, effects of structural pattern in a story, writing an imaginative blog, purpose/language/structural features
