APPRECIATION

First of all, thank to Allah for His bless we can finish this project that we have been
worked together. This project called EZ-Dryer. This project is very important to us because
we had put a lot of effort to invent this project.

Thank you for those people that help us to finish our project. Firstly, for our principal
SAM Bestari, Tuan Haji Shamsori bin Yosok for his encouragement and guidance for us that
rise up our spirit to invent this clothes dryer or we called it EZ-Dryer. To our teacher advisor,
Puan Norhayati binti Abu Hasan that teach Engineering Drawing in our school that help us a
lot. She always shares a lot of tip and advice to make the project become better and work
efficiently.

Next, thanks to our parent that give encouragement and support for us to finish up
this project even there is hardships. They also help us in financial support to build up this
project. To our member team that give all their time and confident to finish up this project.
Last but not least, thanks to all party that helps us in period to finish it.

1.0 PROBLEMS STATEMENT

Nowadays, we hardly to predict weather whether it sunny or gloomy day. Even

though, newspapers had a column about weather forecast. But who us to fight God power. In
this state, clothes that had been washed hardly to get dry if unexpected weather appear to
happen like rain. If we dry it under the roof, probability rate of bad odor is high.

Clothes dryer, tumble dryer, or drying machine is a household appliance that is used
to remove moisture from a load of clothing and other textiles, generally shortly after they are
cleaned in a washing machine. Most dryers consist of a rotating drum called a tumbler
through which heated air is circulated to evaporate the moisture from the load. The tumbler
is rotated to maintain air space between the particles in the load. Using these machines may
cause clothes to shrink or become less soft (due to loss of short soft fibers/lint) and it rate of
drying also not achieved 100% dry. For these reasons, as well as to save energy, many
people use open air methods such as a clothes line and clotheshorse.

As we always see today at apartment and flat, we can observe that residents usually
hanging clothes at window or grills. This will result to unpleasant view and will reflect to the
bad perception toward ‘flat people’. Thus this will also cause bad image to our nation among
tourists.

2.0 INTRODUCTION

By the meantime, this invented device named EZ-Dryer will solve all the listed
problem. Even rain is falling, this device can dry up clothes without any problem because
can be used, decompiled and stored easily in house. By using EZ-Dryer, we will save a lot of
precious time. Besides that, if we using EZ-Dryer, we can manage emergency case for
example there is dirt on our clothes and we really need at the moment. So, using EZ-Dryer
will only use less than thirty minutes to dry. And it same goes to student. They need EZ-
Dryer to dry up their school’s clothes at night to use tomorrow morning. On the other hand,
this invented device will bring a good impression and will solve the unpleasant view that
occurs mostly on apartment and flat.

3.0 OBJECTIVES

Our objectives that want to be reached in this making of project are including as below:-

i. Dry clothes anytime even though raining.

ii. Want to dry clothes in the fast rate.
iii. To help in drying clothes in emergency cases.
iv. As substitute of sun when there is no sun or gloomy day.
v. Save a lot of time from being wasted to dry clothes.
vi. Help residents at apartment and students to dry their clothes easily without any
problem.

4.0 RESEARCH SCOPE

For them who lives at flat or apartment, this device can help them especially
housewives that live in that kind of resident. As we know, people who live at flat or apartment
does not have enough places to dry up their clothes. Mostly, not all flat have balcony or
corridor with suitable lighting to dry up clothes. Same problem goes to student that lack of
time to dry up their clothes because their commitment to a busy schedule. So, this device
can help them. It also can help them to dry clothes more efficiently and the success rate of
drying is one hundred percent because this device use winds element and heat energy.

5.0 FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS

i. Variable resistor - to control the flow of electrical current to nichrome wire.

ii. Fan (CD + motor + cork) – to flow the hot air direct to clothes for drying.
iii. Fuse and wire - plug in electric current and flow it.
iv. Welded iron - to hangs clothes.
v. Wheels - to move easier from place to another.
vi. Holes - to put or remove the box from welded iron.
vii. Nichrome wire – use as resistance of electric thus produces heat energy to fasten the
drying of clothes.

6.0 ASSEMBLING PROCEDURE

i. Prepare all materials and devices needed for this project.

ii. Weld the irons as shown at sketched picture using solder and tin SnO2.

iii. Then, weld at the top of each welded irons with iron balls for safety precaution.
iv. After that, weld wheels at the bottom of each welded irons.
v. Take CD and cut it to shape it like fan’s blade using scissor.
vi. Then, take out cork and make one hole at center of it.
vii. Pierce holed cork to a motor and glued it.
viii. After that, hole at the center of the shaped CD is entered by cork. Glued it and fan is
made.
ix. Then, connect wire to plug and variable resistor with plier.
x. Take out saw and cut the woods to shape it exactly as shown at sketched picture to
acts as main body cover for fan.
xi. Use sand paper to remove unneeded small amounts of material from wood surface
to make it smoother and harmless because of small spikes.
xii. Screw all woods together with screw driver and setting it like a box.
xiii. Make hole at it like at sketched picture.
xiv. Now, connect wire to fan and setting the fan, variable resistor, motor and nichrome
wire that wrapped around insulating board in box carefully.
xv. Lastly, connect box to welded irons through holes.
xvi. Switch on and projects are now ready to use.

7.0 MANUAL PRODUCTS

i. Combine fan box with welded iron.

ii. Connect plug into switch and turn it on.
iii. Control power by variable resistor.
iv. Hang clothes onto welded iron to dry it.

8.0 SAFETY PRECAUTION

i. Don’t touch the electrical component in box.

ii. Put box safely to welded iron when using it.
iii. Avoid children from playing around the box that contained electrical component.
