1. For Students with Insufficient Level on Prerequisite Content-knowledge and/or Skill(s): Asking
students regarding different types of text they have encountered during their JHS. Using inductive method of
giving them the examples, learners will identify what are the types of text.
2. For Students with Fairly Sufficient Level on Prerequisite Content-knowledge and/or Skill(s):
Differentiate types of text.
Introduction:
2. Present to the students the Knowledge (RUA) they are expected to gain from learning the
topic/lesson: The students will be able to…
3. Inform the students with the context where they can apply their learning:
The learners will identify the structures of a specific text based on the definition and characteristics of each text
structure. After identifying text structures, learners will differentiate academic from non-academic text. Then,
create an argumentative essay as sample of an academic text.
The lesson will be focus on text structures as to academic and non-academic text, their differences, definitions, and
characteristics.
Student’s Experiential Learning: (Note: Use the Flexible Learning Activity Identified for the topic/lesson
relative to the General Enabling Teaching Strategy)
Introduce the lesson by chunks (essential knowledge). Each chunk ends with a formative question that the students
should answer. If the students fail to answer the formative question satisfactorily, an immediate intervention
should be made readily available for students to access. This clarifies any misconceptions and would establish a
solid foundation of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes he/she should attain.
A writing assignment is easy or difficult depending on the schema or prior knowledge of the writer to the topic or
theme of the text. It is easy when we use personal point of view or emotions towards the article. It is difficult if we
follow certain structures on writing or creating the selection.
Academic Text is a defined as to writing critically, providing formal language in a given field of specialization
written by experts and professional while Non-academic text follows the emotions and the opinions of the author
when writing.
RUA of a Student’s Learning: This is the part where the students express their learning in their own unique
ways. They will manifest learning of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they achieve in this lesson through their
individual learning style (visual, auditory, reading and writing, and kinesthetic).
Based on your individual assessment of the student’s RUA of Learning, you will design remediation activity in the
form of inputs (reading texts, prompts, cloze completion, question and answer, etc.) that will address the identified
difficulties in the assessment.
