Proposed Strategy for Core & Related Segment
TECHNICAL COMMENTS
• The offered batteries i.e. OPzS Lead Acid and Valve Regulated batteries model should be type tested
as per IEC Standard. Please share us with the type test reports if already type tested.
• As per Client’s requirement, the manufacturer should have at least 5 years of Design / manufacturing
experience for the Batteries i.e. Lead Acid and Sealed Valve regulated batteries.
• The manufacturer should have 3 years operational certificates of at least 2400 AH capacity Batteries
sets in the combination of 300AH for operational certificate from end user / clients.
• The batteries shall be pasted type. Please confirm.
• As per the requirement , 220V is required for 500kV, 220kV System and 110V is required for 132kV
system. The no, of cells will be calculated accordingly. Please confirm.
• Please confirm the ambient temperature range +50C to -10C.
• Nominal Cell voltage shall be 2V please confirm.

• Cell Open circuit voltage at full charge shall be 2.055V . Please confirm
TECHNICAL COMMENTS CONT……
• Please specify rated discharge capacity @ 10 Hours rate at electrolytic temperature of 25C to end
point voltage of 1.85V for 300AH and 600Ah Batteries.
• Please confirm for the specific gravity of fully charged battery corrected at 25C for Plante & Pasted
1.215+-0.01, and Tubular batteries as 1.24+-0.005.
• Please confirm that the batteries are made of shock proof containers of translucent / transparent
material.
• The construction of batteries shall ensure minimum self –discharge not exceeding 3% per month at
25C and low resistance.
• The positive active material shall be essentially lead-oxide and negative active material shall be
sponge lead. Please confirm.
• The average service life of batteries shall not be less than 15 years. Please confirm.
• The positive plates shall be casted from 99.99 % lead free from impurities.

TECHNICAL COMMENTS CONT……
• The tubular type plates shall comprise of frame structure consisting of series of special lead alloy
vertical spines connected to a common busbar.
• The batteries shall conform to NTDC Specifications P-132 : 2019 attached for reference.
• ISO Certification such as 9001, 14000 and relevant OHSAS Certificates
• The Manufacturer shall have sound financial turnover and credit available for fulfillment of its order
• The supply record of last ten years to be provided for both Lead Acid and Tubular Valve regulated
batteries.

AFTER SALE SERVICES
In order to develop after sale services, the following is advised .
• The deployment of technical team locally for support
• Technical support from Manufacturer from remotely and integrated phone infrastructure
• Warranty claim procedure and policy formulation of Pakistan power sector.
• Local Agent will support at its full capacity provided that full technical support is provided by
Manufacturer
• Visit of Distributor / local agent staff for factory orientation in manufacturer’s country.
• The local distributor will maintain a sufficient inventory for claims and sales purpose with the support of
Manufacturers and the same will be charged accordingly to Manufacturer.

CONCLUDING REMARKS
CONCLUDING REMARKS
• The batteries shall be in compliance with the WAPDA, NTDC Specifications P-132:2019
• The Factory Orientation and supply record of the Manufacturer shall be visited by MKEC and
cooperation for sharing expenses shall be made accordingly.
• The Batteries shall be Type tested.
• The Manufacturer Premises shall have international certifications for its premises such as ISO 9001,
14000 and OHSAS and other relevant certificates.
• Necessary verification of production facilities from MKEC to be done in order to qualify for the
different sectors.
• Agreements to be signed before proceeding as already advised.
