PROJECT TREND
Teaching Reading and Language Learning to Enhance Teachers’ Performance through
Pedagogical Approaches Necessary for Learners’ Development
Proponent: CINDY G. WASIN
Reading is often considered one of the most challenging subjects in school. But
despite its reputation, it plays a crucial role in the modern world. From the technology we use
today to the complex systems that govern our society, Reading is essential to understanding
and solving the problems we face today. Teachers as facilitators of learning need to be
equipped with best teaching strategies, approaches, methods, and techniques in order to
produce 21st century lifelong learners.
Through the implementation of the Project TREND, teachers were enhanced and
updated with pedagogical competence in relation to the different teaching approaches and
pedagogies and skills of the 21st century teaching in the new normal aligned with the
objectives of the K-12 curriculum. Teaching reading needs to be improved in order for us to
provide quality instructions for better learning outcomes and learner’s performance.
Lantap Elementary School conducted the 3-day School LAC on October 28, 2022,
November 4-5, 2023 to all teachers to enhance teachers’ competence on appropriate
pedagogical skills in Reading and Language Teaching. The LAC was made possible through
the able leadership of Mrs. Cindy Geron-Wasin, the proponent and with the support of the
School Head and the public schools district supervisor. Through this endeavor the teachers
used these pedagogical approaches during classroom instructions, remediation and
intervention. The implementation was a great help to teachers to provide quality instructions
to the learners. Teachers were trained on the different strategies and techniques in teaching
reading. Marungko Approach and Fuller Method were introduced so that teachers can
execute the proper way of using them. Teachers were challenged to embrace the new trends
in teaching which deepen their knowledge and understanding on multitude teaching strategies
and in designing activities and lessons. Through these, learners find meaningful learning
which they can also apply in their daily lives.
Lastly, as a classroom Teacher, I was able to use the different approaches and
strategies in teaching my learners how to easily read. For me, the proper execution of the
different strategies matter. No matter how good the strategies are, if they are not properly
executed, it will create confusion among the learners causing them of having difficulties in
grasping what needs to be learned. As a result of using the different approaches, strategies,
and methods, all my learners were able to read at the end of the school year.

PROJECT E-KNOW
Enhancement of Knowledge on Pedagogical Approaches in Teaching Mathematics for the
Development of Learners’Numeracy Skills and Performance through Optimum Ways on
Improving Quality Instructions
Proponent: CINDY G. WASIN
Through the implementation of the Project E-KNOW, teachers were enhanced and
updated with pedagogical competence in relation to the different teaching approaches and
pedagogies and skills of the 21st century teaching aligned with the objectives of the
Mathematics K-12 curriculum. Teaching needs to be improved in order for us to provide
quality instructions for better learning outcomes.
As a classroom teacher, the different strategies in Mathematics were used in designing
quality lessons. The learners were able to enjoy learning Mathematics concepts because of
the varied teaching strategies that were used in every lesson. Learners’ academic performance
had significant improvement because they were able to grasp concepts easily because of such
strategies, approaches, and methods.

TRAINING WORKSHOP ON TRENDS IN LANGUAGE TEACHING IN THE NEW
NORMAL
Proponent: DINDO JOHN H. MORENO PhD
Education Program Supervisor in English-Elementary
Technology has taken over our world and has dramatically changed the way we live,
work, and learn. In the education sector, technology has been a game-changer and has
transformed the traditional methods of teaching and learning. In a classroom setting, students
are often given a lot of information to process quickly. This can be overwhelming and cause
confusion. Technology provides access to numerous online resources that support
independent learning and research. It also helps simplify the learning process by making
concepts easier to understand, for example through instructional videos. Gone are the days of
rote memorization and blackboard lectures. Today’s students are digital natives, who have
grown up surrounded by technology and are accustomed to a more interactive, dynamic
learning experience. It is then essential that New Technology video platform has been
introduced to teachers to catch up with the demands of education now a days.
Improving the socio-emotional aspect helps both teachers and learners in the
teaching-learning process. Respecting individual differences among learners can help
teachers build a safe and healthy learning environment. In this way, learners can be able to
bring out the best version of themselves where they see their teachers not just an educator,
but a teacher that can transform and help them in their holistic development.
Teaching proficiency through reading and storytelling can also be a good strategy.
Teachers can easily teach reading if they knew how to execute the strategies where enjoyable
learning can take place.
As a teacher, after knowing these varied strategies, I applied them in my daily
planning of lessons. I saw my learners that were always excited in going to school and always
eager to participate in class discussions. I saw them enjoy every activity that were given to
them. They wanted to explore and find answers to their questions. They were active and
enthusiastic in solving problems and activities. The use of manipulatives and other tangible
objects helped them easily share their opinions and ideas about the lesson. Technology
integration in the lessons made it more exciting and enjoyable every day.
Lastly, I realized that there is no perfect strategy, what matters is that teachers should
be able to carefully plan for their lessons that are suited to the learners’ abilities and
capabilities wherein the development of knowledge, values, skills, and attitude should be the
focus, that is when learning takes place for me.
