4. Course Description
This course is designed to develop contemporary approaches to planning, composing and revising
common written business communication. It is explained and applied. Emphasis is on the writing of clear,
concise, and effective business letters, memos, proposals, and reports. This course is designed for
business majors.

5. Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)


i. Students will be able to deliver formal presentations effectively.
ii. Students will be able to write effective business letters, memos, proposals, and short reports.
iii. Students will be able to work effectively in groups.
iv. Students will be able to understand basic concepts, theories, models, and formats of business
communication.

6. Assessment Task Description


a) Quizzes
Quizzes will be based on theoretical concepts and their applications.

b) Assignment
1. Students will be required to research about a particular country and make a formal presentation
on the way communication takes place there. They will also provide a written document
highlighting their understanding of cross-cultural communication with respect to their chosen
country.

c) Business Report
By the end of the semester, they shall be asked to provide a full-fledged formal business report.

d) Business Report Presentation


They will also be required to present their report in class in front of their fellows, instructor(s),
and other experts, if possible.
