Now Available
The African American Network is a Duke Energy employee resource group of Africa American
employees. The Network identifies development growth opportunities for African American
employees at Duke Energy and creates value for Duke Energy as a business resource and an
organization with solid brand reputation. As part of its mission, the African American Network –
Carolinas chapter provides scholarships to college – bound students from North and South Carolina who
are pursuing a major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance or business
administration.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY
AAN-C Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria.

1. Graduating senior at a North or South Carolina high school.

2. Must attend a four-year college or university located in North or South Carolina.
3. Must plan to major in engineering, computer science, the sciences, accounting, finance or

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc. (www.mhefl.net) is an independent

charitable organization that was established in 1976 with a mission to promote the study of
material handling, logistics and supply chains y exposing students and educators to the
industry through financial support. Since 1976, more than $2.5 million in scholarship and
grants have been awarded to students at colleges and universities in the United States and
Canada. Forty-five scholarships were awarded for the 2017/2018 academic term for a total of
$146,100.
The Foundation will offer scholarship award opportunities to students are committed to
studying material handling, supply chain and logistics for 2018/2019 academic term.
Scholarship awards range from $1,500 to $6,000 and are made up of funds from the
Foundation and the Howard Bernstein industrial Distribution Scholarship Program. One
application allows students to compare for multiple scholarships offered by the Foundation.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Pakistan Nationals and have at least a first class honors degree from
recognized Pakistani university. Since this scholarship is offered on the basis of financial need, candidates
with multiple degrees will not e considered. Candidates should not previously had studied in the UK.
Applicants must return to Pakistan for a period of five years at the end of their studies. They will be
expected to serve their country and apply their learning in Pakistan. Candidates will not be permitted to
undertake further studies on completion of their master degree. They must also be sufficiently fluent in
written and oral English to pursue their purposed studies immediately. Candidates should also have
relevant work experience. If scholarship holders do not return home at the end of their award and serve in
