    Procedure

    ELICIT (5 minutes) MATERIALS


    - 3 kinds of picture - Pictures
    1. Food
    2. Picture of a man with a huge muscle
    3. Man that is lying in a bed

    Ask the students about the relationship of the 3 pictures and how it
    relates to the lesson.
    ENAGAGE (5 minutes)
    - Show the different kinds of organs in our body and ask them about its - pictures
    functions

    EXPLORE (10 minutes)


    Activity
    - The pictures of organs given should be arrange correctly just like in our
    digestive system.
    - After placing the organs correctly, draw a bracket dividing the organs
    into 4 processes of digestive system.
    - Label each bracket correctly with INGESTION, ABSORPTION,
    ASSIMILATION and EXCRETION
    - Each label should have a short description of its function.
    EXPLAIN (10 minutes)
    - (The teacher will show a picture of a kid eating banana) - Video clip

    The teacher will discuss the following;


     What is digestive system?
     What are the organs involve in our digestive system?
     What are the functions of each organ involve in our digestive system?

    - Emphasize that the digestive system has 4 stages on where the food
    will go and how our body absorb the nutrients from the food we eat.

    (INGESTION, ABSORPTION, ASSIMILATION, EXCRETION)

    ELABORATE (10 minutes)


    - We gain energy through the foods that we eat. A food carries the
    nutrients that our body needs in order to gain strength, grow and
    repair the cells. Our body can manage to obtain all of that through the
    help of our digestive system but there are instances that we obtain the
    opposite and that is because of the digestive diseases, a disorder in our
    digestive tract that can result to some health problems.
    EXTEND (5 minutes)
    - Think of at least 5 common health problems that cause by a digestive
    disorder.
    EVALUATE (5 minutes)
