Business As level tips (9609)

- Use the syllabus and write points next to it as a form of testing


- Refer to the marking scheme
- Remember all the keywords

1. Knowledge & understanding


2. Application
3. Analysis
4. Evaluation

Paper 1- Short answer and essay- format: 40 marks, 1hr 15 min

Section A:

- Definition of keywords
- If for 2 marks, give precise meaning
- If for 3 marks, also include an example
Use of definition, main response and application (example) above.
If a 3 mark question asks to give 2 reasons, then state + explain them
whilst giving examples alongside.
5 marks question:
- Definition
- Answer- reason/factors (give at least 3 to 4)
- Examples

Section B:
8 marks question:
Use of 1,2,3.
Define keywords/explain the theory or concept being asked.
Give reasoning with suitable examples which are specific and finally list
the pros and cons for analysis.

12/20 marks question:


- Use 1,2,3,4
- A specific situation will be asked
- Give your opinion/other situations or how your option or suggestion
is a better choice
- Or compare your decision with other option

Paper 2- Data response- format- 1hr 30 min- 60 marks


- Definition (refer to p1 tips)
- Calculations, to be more precise make sure to write the formula
first and then substitute your values in
Required criteria:
1. Definition
2. Application/examples
3. Analysis
4. Development of analysis-elaboration of foreseeable outcomes
according to the main point in your analysis
5. Evaluation

8 marks question: for instance, analyze is asked


Make sure to use all the five criteria mentioned.
