FACULTY RECRUITMENT
Applications in prescribed format for filling the Institute created posts of Full time
Adjunct Faulty in various Engineering/Technology and other disciplines as well as
Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor/ Adjunct Faulty in Management on
contract basis for 11 months are invited from the eligible candidates. Detailed
advertisement mentioning number of posts, reservation, age limit, qualification,
selection procedure, prescribed application form and terms and conditions are
displayed on the institute web site www.coep.org.in under “Recruitment” tab.

All interested candidates are requested to visit the web site for details and submit online
application form on or before 26th August 2021 up to 5.00 pm along with online
application fee of Rs.1,000/- (Rs. 500/- for Backward class and Specially Enabled
Candidates), bank details are provided in this notification.

RECRUITMENT FOR THE POSTS OF ADJUNCT FACULTY IN ENGINEERING


/TECHNOLOGY AND OTHER DISCIPLINES AND ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR /ADJUNCT FACULTY IN MANAGEMENT

College of Engineering Pune established in 1854, has a legacy of 167 years. It is an


autonomous institute of Government of Maharashtra and is constantly ranked within 50
engineering institutions of the country by various surveys and NIRF ranking. Online
applications in the prescribed format are invited from dynamic, eligible candidates with
passion towards academics and research to work as Full time Adjunct Faulty in various
Engineering /Technology and other disciplines as well as Associate Professor/ Assistant
Professor/ Adjunct Faulty in Management on contract basis, for a period of 11 months to
engage academic load for 2021-22.

A. Number of Posts:

The number of posts of Adjunct Faulty in various Engineering, Management,


Planning, Management, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English,
Psychology, ERP and Law disciplines are based on the requirement in the
respective departments as given in Annexure -I.

For posts of Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor in Management,


please refer to the Annexure-II given below.

B. Qualifications, Experience and Age limit for the post of Full Time Adjunct
Faculty in Engineering/ Technology, Planning, Management, Mathematics,
Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English, Psychology and Law disciplines:

For all Adjunct Faculty positions, age of the applicant must be below 55 years on
the last date of application.

(i) For Full Time Adjunct Faculty in “Engineering/Technology” programs:


Candidates with First class/ 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point scale or equivalent at
both Bachelor’s and Master’s level in relevant discipline/ branch and having
minimum 2 years of teaching /industrial /research experience (as on the last
date of application) will be considered for interview. Candidates having PhD
qualification and/or with qualifying GATE score will be given preference.

However, such candidates on selection will be given an appointment by


the Board of Governors of institute as full time ADJUNCT FACULTY for
11 months on contract basis. Candidates having M.E. or M.Tech.

qualification in the respective discipline will be paid consolidated pay of
Rs. 60,000/- per month. Candidates having Ph.D. qualification will be paid
consolidated pay of Rs. 70,000/- per month.

(ii) For Full Time Adjunct Faculty in “Planning” Program: Candidates with First
class/ 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point scale or equivalent at both Bachelor’s and
Master’s level in the relevant branch and having minimum 2 years of teaching
/industrial /research experience (as on the last date of application) will be
considered for interview. Candidates having PhD qualification and/or with
qualifying GATE score will be given preference.

However, such candidates on selection will be given an appointment by


the Board of Governors of institute as full time ADJUNCT FACULTY for
11 months on contract basis. Candidates having M.Plan. /M.E. /M.Tech.
qualification in the respective discipline will be paid consolidated pay of
Rs. 60,000/- per month. Candidates having Ph.D. qualification will be paid
consolidated pay of Rs. 70,000/- per month.

(iii) For Full Time Adjunct Faculty in “Management” Programs: Candidates


with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology and having MBA/PGDM
qualification with minimum First Class or with CGPA of 6.75 on a 10-point
scale, at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels and having minimum 2 years of
teaching /industrial /research experience (as on the last date of application) will
be considered for interview. Candidates having PhD qualification and/or with
qualifying CAT/MCAT score will be given preference.

However, such candidates on selection will be given an appointment by


the Board of Governors of institute as full time ADJUNCT Faculty for 11
months on contract basis. Candidates having MBA/PGDM qualification
will be paid consolidated pay of Rs. 60,000/- per month. Candidates
having Ph.D. qualification will be paid consolidated pay of Rs. 70,000/-
per month.

(iv) For Full Time Adjunct Faculty in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics,


Biology, English, Psychology and Law Disciplines: Candidates with a
minimum First Class or with CGPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale at both
Bachelor’s and Master’s levels and having minimum 2 years of
teaching/industrial/research experience will be considered for full time
Adjunct Faculty position, and provided they either possess PhD degree
[in accordance with the University Grants Commission Notification No. F.1-
2/2017(EC/PS) dated 18th July, 2018 and UGC guidelines issued from time to
time] or are NET/SET qualified.

However, such candidates on selection will be given an appointment by


the Board of Governors of institute as full time ADJUNCT FACULTY for
11 months on contract basis. Candidates having M.Sc./ M.A. with
NET/SET qualification will be paid consolidated pay of Rs. 60,000/- per

month. Candidates having Ph.D. qualification will be paid consolidated
pay of Rs. 70,000/- per month.

(v) For Full Time Adjunct Faculty in “Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)”
Programme:

Qualifications:

• Candidates with First class/ 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point scale or


equivalent at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level in the relevant
branch
AND
• having SAP Global Certification in
➢ SAP Financial Accounting (SAP FI) OR SAP Order Fulfilment
(SAP SD)
AND
➢ SAP- Advanced Business Application Programming (SAP
ABAP) is mandatory.
SAP Certification or knowledge of S/4 HANA in any of the mentioned
modules will be preferred.
• Good communication skills and command over English language is
essential.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years experience of teaching SAP/ Industrial Experience


in SAP.
• Preference will be given to candidates having teaching experience in
Engineering Institutions.

However, such candidates on selection will be given an appointment by


the Board of Governors of institute as full time ADJUNCT FACULTY for
11 months on contract basis. Candidates having Master’s degree
qualification will be paid consolidated pay of Rs. 60,000/- per month.
Candidates having Ph.D. qualification will be paid consolidated pay of Rs.
70,000/- per month.

C. Qualifications, Experience, Age limit and pay for the post of Full Time
Associate Professor in Management

• Ph.D. degree in the relevant field and First class / 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point
scale / equivalent at both Bachelor’s in Engineering / Technology and MBA /
PGDM. Candidates having Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology
ONLY are eligible.
AND
• At least total 6 research publications in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE approved list
of journals.
AND

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching / research / industry out of which
at least 2 years shall be Post Ph.D. experience.
• Candidates with post-doctoral fellowship/Post Ph.D. publications and experience
of guiding Ph.D. student are highly desirable.

Selected candidates for the post of Associate Professor will be paid with Basic pay
Rs.1,31,400/-: Level 13A1. The tenure will be strictly for 11 months. The selected
candidates shall be offered appointment by the Board of Governors of COEP on
contract basis.

D. Qualifications, Experience, Age limit and pay for the post of Full Time
Assistant Professor in Management

• Ph.D. degree in the relevant field and First class / 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point
scale/equivalent at both Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology and MBA/PGDM.
Candidates having Bachelor’s in Engineering/ Technology ONLY are
eligible.
• Candidates with post-doctoral fellowship, good academic record, relevant
experience is highly desirable.

Selected candidates for the post of Assistant Professor will be paid Basic pay
Rs.57,700/-: Level 10. The tenure will be strictly for 11 months. The selected
candidates shall be offered appointment by the Board of Governors of COEP on
contract basis.

E. Note:
a) If class / division is not awarded, minimum of 60% marks in aggregate will
be considered equivalent to first class / division. If grade point system is
adopted the CGPA will be converted into equivalent marks as per AICTE
norms. Qualification will be considered as on 26th August 2021.
b) Equivalence in educational qualifications for graduate and post-graduate
degree as made relevant for recruitment in Technical Institutions by the
Government of Maharashtra, vide its GR. No. 2013/(45/13)/TE.Ed.-2
dated 23/05/2014, will be made applicable to posts advertised by the
institute.
c) Above mentioned criteria for eligibility / qualification / Experience are
minimum and indicative and can be raised to next level of stringency by
the Institute.

F. Application Form:

Candidate must apply in the prescribed ONLINE form displayed on the institute
website "www.coep.org.in" under “Recruitment” tab. The last date for the receipt of
the ONLINE application form is 26th August 2021 till 5:00 p.m.

The application fee for Open Category candidates is Rs. 1000/- and for
Reserved Category candidates is Rs. 500/- which is non-transferable and non-

refundable. The application fee must be paid before filling the online application
form as it needs the payment details to be entered.

Applications of the candidates not making the online payment of


application fee and not providing its UTR/DU details will be treated as
INCOMPLETE and will not be accepted for further processing.

Process of Online Payment of Application Fee:


The candidate will pay online application fee using "SBI COLLECT" website. The
procedure of payment in SBI COLLECT is given below.
i. For payment of application fees, use following link.

ii. MARK √ in the box at the bottom of left-hand side to accept the condition.
Click on "Proceed".
iii. Select State of corporate/ educational Institute: MAHARASHTRA
iv. Select: EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE
v. Select: COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING PUNE; Click on "Submit"
vi. Select payment category: "IRG income"
vii. Fill up applicable information, as required.
viii. In remarks - mention "application for the post of ………………….."
ix. Confirm the details as mobile number, date of birth, Email id, text given.
x Make the payment, "DU number" will be generated. Candidates are
required to store this "DU number" for future correspondence.

Before filling the online form, candidate must create a PDF file of documents with
name the file in the format of ------
“discipline name_candidate first name_candidate surname.pdf”
(For example: Mechanical_Swaraj_Sharma.pdf).

The PDF file with size limit of 40 MB is to be created including the passport size
digital photograph of the candidate, scanned certificates/documents related to
qualifications, professional experience and achievements. This created pdf file is
required to be uploaded online.

The candidate will fill in the online form displayed on the institute website
"www.coep.org.in" under “Recruitment” tab; upload the created PDF. He/She is
required to provide details of fee payment such as DU number or UTR number,
amount paid and date of transaction. After submission of the application form,
candidate will receive the acknowledgement receipt on his/her email address
which will be saved /printed for future correspondence.

Short listed Candidates must also bring all relevant original


certificates/documents along with photo ID proof for verification at the time of
interview. The hard copies of all required self-attested copies of the
certificates/documents will have to be submitted at the time of presentation /
interview to the college authority.

G. Selection Procedure

a) A Screening test of 100 Marks will be conducted for short listing of candidates
for interview. The test paper will be objective type based on GATE/CAT/CMAT
syllabus for respective branch / subject.
b) For calling the candidates for presentation and final interview, a short-listing
criterion based on the screening test marks will be set by the institute authority.
Mere fulfillment of minimum qualification and experience requirements do
not entitle the candidate to be called for an interview.
c) For all posts, the final selection will be based on the marks obtained out of 100
as per the following heads:

i. Qualification and experience :30 marks


ii. Presentation, Subject knowledge and presentation skills :20 marks
iii. Personal interview in front of selection committee :50 Marks

H. Other terms and conditions

I) For the posts of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in


Management:
(i) Reserved category candidate must attach caste and caste validity
certificate issued by the competent authority, along with the application.
Candidates belonging to V.J. (A), N.T. (B), N.T.(C), N.T.(D), O.B.C.,
S.B.C.category must attach valid non-creamy layer certificate issued by
the competent authority for considering the application on reserved post
in addition to caste and caste validity certificate. Reservation for lady
candidates is shown in Annexure -1 and Annexure-2.
(ii) Candidates belonging to EWS category must attach valid income
certificate issued by the competent authority for considering the
application on reserved post.
(iii) Specially Enabled candidate must attach handicap certificate from
competent authority with not less than 40% disability.
(iv) For Associate Professor/Assistant Professor post in Management
discipline, candidate on sabbatical leave will be considered, if permitted
by their employer.

II) For All posts:


(i) Services shall stand automatically terminated at the end of the contract
period and in between; if performance of the selected candidate is not
satisfactory on review after every quarter of service.
(ii) Mere fulfillment of minimum qualification and experience requirements
do not entitle the candidate to be called for an interview. A short-listing
criterion may be set higher than the minimum.
(iii) The candidate must attend the screening test / presentation / interview
at his/her cost. No TA / DA is admissible and will not be paid to the
candidate.
(iv) Any misleading or wrong information provided may lead to summarily
rejection of application / appointment, if found subsequently. Canvassing
in any form by or on behalf of a candidate will lead to disqualification.
(v) The institute reserves all the rights to fill or not to fill the post(s)
advertised.

(vi) These appointments being on contract basis by the Board of Governors
of COEP, all the decisions related to the services of the selected
candidates will be taken by COEP.
(vii) Selected candidates shall have to submit the affidavit and undertaking
regarding no claim to regular faculty positions in College of Engineering
Pune as per the prescribed format on Rs. 100/- stamp paper at the time
of joining.
