It is good if the writers clearly define about micro and small enterprises and
categorized also by their human resource establishment and shortly assessing
about HRM and clearly state the topics and tries to touched the research topics.
3.Rsearche Method
The researchers’ study design reflects an advantageous element in its
measurement adequacy. The study revealed that HRM practice has significant
effect on the performance of small-scale business enterprises. The hypothesis
testing result indicated that the HRM practice components (recruitment and
selection, incentives, training and development practices and performance
appraisal practices) have significant effect on the performance of small-scale
enterprises. The writers recommended that the management of respective small-
scale business enterprises should be able to increase the businesses’ performance
by establishing effective human resource management practices.
To address this argument, they examined or used explanatory methods by lottery
sampling technique by selecting sampling to get proportional number of samples
from the study area by using both primary and secondary data collection and by
conducting data the paper gives a good conclusion and recommendation and put
the findings Suggestions for the future Research.
However, the research has some sampling limitations. Primarily, the
researchers utilized only 44 employees and 6 managers from total number of 194
small scale enterprises and only 2 weredas for their data collection and analysis.
While this number could be sufficient for qualitative study, the quantitative
design would require a large number of sampling.
A small sample size exacerbates the risk of errors in the eventual findings
emanating from the utilization of an atypical sample. The researchers failed to
elaborate on the sampling process. The study has about 194 small scale
enterprises at least 1 enterprise have 3 people in their firms so 194 enterprises
has about 582 people in the entire population, which could have justified a census
approach to participant idenetifiaction.so the study’s sampling strategy may be
insufficient to meet the research objectives.
