Chapter I INTRODUCTION BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Technology evolution played an important role in the success of many businesses and

helping business to become more competitive in the industry as well as the economy. Better quality of life is often achieved with the effect of the creation of IT. As technology continues to evolve, computer is largely dominating the work of a lot of people. We are now benefiting the fruit of its wonders, advancement of connectivity, communication, accessible online devices were invented to enable man to add, subtract and to record simple transactions. Enrollment systems are used in recording a students information. A well built one will reduce the load on the people that normally have to do all the work.

Enrollment system is a good step for a school. It is useful especially when the school retrieves the important information from the student. Through it the school can trace what are the standings of the students. Lack of enrollment system in a school can lead to chaos and troubles, the students will be confused on what they should do and how they will do to be able to enroll. It is extremely useful in the school in the way of making the processes of enrolling much easy. The system design project, Enrollment System will provide the needed system for storing information in a faster, more convenient through a database. This will lessen the effort of faculty staff in storing files of each student every now and then. This will also serve as

information especially for the irregular students, freshmen, transferee, and professor in able to get access in course, subject, professor, and student enrollees.

Such information can be viewed in just a second without worrying that a single file is lost. The idea behind an enrollment system is not a new concept. As student enrollees increase every year, enrollment procedures become harder to deal. It will help an institution to have another system that will upgrade the enrollment processes so as to meet the quality that our institutions are trying to meet. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The researchers aim to improve the existing enrolment system of the organization and to facilitate an organized enrolment system for the users through an implementation of a computer based information system that can help the organizations operation to become more efficient, effective and reliable. This study specifically answers the following questions: 1. What are the processes involved in the existing enrolment system of the organization? 2. What are the problems encountered in the existing system of the organization? 3. What are the possible solutions to solve the problems? 4. What are the benefits that the organization can get from the proposed enrolment system? CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The researchers generally aim to develop the current enrolment system of the organization. The researchers also aim to introduce a more established and organized computer based information system that would give and provide the users a more effective, efficient and reliable approaches to be used in the organizations operation. Below are the specific objectives of the study: 1. To determine all the processes involved in the existing enrolment system. 2. To determine all the problems encountered in the existing system. 3. To be able to seek for possible solutions to solve these problems. 4. To determine all the procedures in report preparation. 5. To be able to proposed a system and design which will benefit the organization. IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY The study is intended to improve the present enrolment system of the organization and to give emphasis on the importance of using technology in the operation to result in a more sound and reliable method of recording and reporting specific transactions. This study can help in providing better ideas to the management in order for them to provide a better quality of service to students with less effort of the employees. This will help users in performing their job well. Computer based information system will provide accurate and correct student records without doing it manually. This study also helps each student to easily access their records during enrolment and whenever the need for student information

arises. This study will also provide a more relevant and reliable system for the enrolment which can drive a more complete, accurate and timely data. SCOPE AND DELIMITATION The study will focus on the improvement of the existing enrolment system of BVS Colleges located at Km 5, Pico, La Trinidad. The study will cover on understanding and learning the processes involved in the current enrolment system of the organization and the generation of reports to identify predominant problems in the operations that needs improvement.
