THE SWARM

An arcane critter specialist

What’s in the box? Some things go bump in the night, others crawl along the cobblestones and
creep between woodwork with only the faintest noise. One may have glided in unnoticed and be
currently clinging to the wall of this very room. Doskvol pests can be frightening, but these are
macabre arcane vermin with conscious ill intent.

When you play a Swarm, you earn xp when you address a challenge with infiltration or
fright. Select a type of creature that would fit within a single average shoebox. Two will serve as
your undead zombie-like ghosts (physical form) and the volume of which could be fit into three
shoeboxes will serve as your spirit-ghost (incorporeal) swarm to unleash. You share a mutually
beneficial, symbiotic relationship with your usual creatures that’s beyond words. They act as
highly trained companions who will carry out suggested tasks which don’t cause them harm.

What’s in the box?! Fleas? Bees? Bats? Frogs? Chihuahuas? Cats? Did you find them? Did you cre-
ate them in a ritual? Did they summon you? Who’s controlling who? How obedient are they?

SWARM SPECIAL ABILITIES
POSSESS PET
Your conciousness abandons your body and occupies that of one of your undead creatures. During
this time, your body is left in a comatose state. When and if your mind returns, it carries the stress,
trauma and harm experienced by the creature.
The potency of the possession is determined by your ability to Attune. Creature stats mirror
your playbook, but effect will be reduced if you attempt to Skirmish as a somethig like a
housefly.
Leave your body for too long and who knows what will happen?

EYES ON THE PRIZE

When you use your undead and/or spirit creatures to Hunt you get +1d to those rolls.
After following a target, creatures may remain perched outsite a location, signaling
information that your prey lies inside.

JUMP SCARE
When you push yourself to have your undead and/or spirit creatures suddenly appear they frighten
nearby targets. The Crew gains +1 effect to Command or Sway against those experiencing fear.
Boo! What do it look like when this happens? Do your creatures hiss or snarl? Move rapidly
to surround a group? Literally pop out of you? Will spew a fountain of ghost bees?

FETCH
Have your undead creatures attempt to retrieve a 0 load or small 1 load object.
Size matters for this ability. Don’t ask a flea to bring back a grenade.

DEVOUR
You may dispatch your undead creatures to attempt to devour pieces of evidence, small
consumables, etc.
What’s good for them, is good for you. Potentially reduce heat following a score.

INTERFERENCE
You are able to prompt your undead and/or spirit creatures to appear out of reach nearby. The
Crew gains +1 effect to Prowl when this ability is used to draw attention away from their activities.

MANY AS ONE
When you call on your swarm to assist an action they are determined to be capable of gain +1
effect.
A little nudge here, a shift in weight there, or a call out about pending danger could go a long
way toward keeping everyone together.
GREMLINS
When you utilize your undead and/or spirit creatures to assist with an object you can tinker with
take +1d. If they can fit inside the object, you get +1 effect.
We all want to be helpful. Yes we do. Teamwork makes the dreamwork.

WE FEEL
You can Attune to connect with an undead or spirit creature. Share one of their five senses as if
possessing them, while maintaining your own wits about you.
The amount of information you are able to glean is determined by your roll. How fine is the
taste of that wine? What do you hear as a fly on the wall? Can you see what’s cooking? Is
something burning?

SWARM ITEMS
‹ Trigger Scent Pellets: A special ball containing fluid that your creatures are trained to seek
out. Mark something unsuspecting to be followed? Attacked? [1 load]
‹ A Slingshot: A small slingshot. Shoot a trigger scent pellet? Treat? Pebble? [1 load]
‹ A Whistle: A small simple instrument. How have you trained your creatures to respond to it?
Can humans hear it? [0 load]
‹ A Fine Scent: A small item that produces a pleasant aroma. Maybe cover up the smell of
undead pets? Train your pets to respond to it? [1 load]
‹ Treats: Something your companions might like. Your crew may also be interested in a taste?
[0 load]
