What exactly is the ‘Courts of Heaven’ All About?

The courts of Heaven are a real place where Believers have access to by way of prayer and
petition, through intercession by the Holy Spirit who intercedes for the Believer. God governs
His court system in Heaven as the sovereign judge. He hears our circumstances and answers us
according to His governmental system.

The Purpose of the Court of Heaven

1. The Court of Heaven is where justice is meted out.
2. It is where God judges situations in personal lives and in nations and cities.
3. He is the Judge of the Earth and He issues judgments based on the arguments set forth in
the Court of
Heaven.
4. In the Court of Heaven justice is determined, mercy is found and the wrath of God is
poured out and Satan is able to destroy lives or he is stopped cold.
5. The Court of Heaven is where breakthroughs come for believers. The issues of justice
that come forth are directly related to us as individuals.
Oder of the Court of Heaven
God the Father, Yehovah—the Creator – God the Father is the Judge of the Universe. He is
sovereign over all His creation. He can do absolutely ANYTHING He wants with His creation.
He can even destroy if He chooses to. He did it once that we know of in the flood of Noah.
He permitted Satan from the Judgement seat to test Job.

Jesus Christ, Our Advocate – Jesus is our advocate with the Father.
I John 2:1 says “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if
anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is
the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” Jesus Christ is
our Intercessor. Romans 8:34 says “Who is he who condemns? It is Christ
who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes
intercession for us.”
Jesus fights for us when we fall into sin. He asks for time to work an unfruitful tree because He
knows our hearts. He comes into agreement with OUR petitions in the court. We are co-
advocates for others as we intercede for them right along with Jesus!
The Holy Spirit – The precious Holy Spirit is everywhere. He is in our hearts and He is also in
the heart of God who sits on the throne in the Court. He helps us to pray in accordance with the
PERFECT will of God because He KNOWS the perfect will of God. That is why praying in the
Spirit is key to getting victory!
Romans 8:26 says “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we
do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for
us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” The Holy Spirit is ALWAYS with us because He

1
lives big on the inside of us!
He is the power behind our faith!
Blood-bought Christians – As blood-bought believers in Jesus Christ, WE play an integral part
of the court room activities! We are the only human beings allowed into the Court room. An
unbeliever cannot go there until they are washed in the Blood of the Lamb. God’s immigration
policy into the Kingdom is very simple. Accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ or go into the lake of
fire. There is no illegal immigration in the Kingdom of God. But we are now sons and daughters
of the Most High and as such, we are told to come boldly to His throne of Grace for help in times
of
trouble. Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may
obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” 2 Corinthians 6:18 says “I will be a Father
to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty. Therefore, having
these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
We are also a royal priesthood who can actually come and minister to the LORD in our prayers
and our worship. I Peter 2:9 says “But you area chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation. His own special people, that you may PROCLAIM the praises
of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” As priests and kings of the
Most High, part of our duties in the Kingdom IS to go regularly to the Court of Heaven and make
decrees and declarations, petitions and intercessions for the earth realm--our sphere of influence.
He expects us to make a difference in our world!
Satan—the Adversary – Satan is in the Court of Heaven day and night the Bible says.

Revelation 12:10 says “Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, now salvation, and strength,
and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our
brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.” The ONLY
thing Satan can do is con you into believing a lie. He is the father of lies. He accuses us on three
fronts: 1) when we fall into sin and don’t repent. He puts a temptation before you and tries to
convince you that God won’t mind. He’s “down” with your sinful lifestyle. You’re special.
When you fall for it, he immediately goes to make a case against you
in the Court of Heaven. Unrepentant sins bring judgment. If you don’t repent and put it under the
blood of Jesus, it is hanging out there for Satan to use against you at an opportune time. 2) Doubt
and unbelief. One of Satan’s primary strategies is to convince you that God is holding out on
you.
That God’s motives are evil towards you. That He loves everybody BUT you. He sets
circumstances up that seem to add weight to his argument. When we fall for it, he watches us as
we
withdraw from the Lord. The further we back away, the stronger his case against you gets. 3)
The
words of our mouth. The Bible clearly states that life and death are in the power of the tongue.
You
WILL eat the fruit of your lips whether you believe it or not. Satan listens to our words. When

2
we
say things that are negative and full of doubt and unbelief, he grabs those words to use against
us.
Once he has prepared his case against you, he goes to the Court of Heaven and presents it. If he
makes the case, he can attack you.
The Holy Angels – the angels are also in the court room awaiting the good verdict for us. When
God hands us the good verdict, the angels are assigned to work it out for us. Angels are sent to
do
warfare in the heavenlies against Satan’s kings and princes. They are sent to bring messages and
they
are sent to work in the circumstances of our lives to bring about the good verdict.

Have you ever noticed the references to copious numbers of legal terms in the Bible?
Words such as:

 Law
 Justified
 Guilt
 Penalty
 Petition
 Throne
 Heaven’s Court

Taking the book of 2 Timothy, you read Paul’s letter to the young man to “guard what has been
entrusted to you.” This “entrusting” comes from a formal procedure where one party could
securely pass a commodity to another authorized party.

Paul charges Timothy…

“I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the
dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word!…”—2 Timothy 4:1-2

Paul enters the courts of Heaven and charges Timothy before God as judge and the Lord Jesus. “I
charge you…” means “in view of the preceding,” which was mentioned in the previous verse
about the inspired Word of God used for teaching and instructing.

Why are there legal terms in the Bible?

Because there is a legal battle over the rights of this earth. There is an accuser, and there is
a Righteous Judge. The beauty of it is that we can come before the Judge, know His will, and
petition in prayer.

3
You don’t need a law degree to understand the scriptures; you need the Holy Spirit. Likewise,
digging into the roots of the Jewish faith, how governments and nations were set up at the time,
also sheds much light on the subject.

From the Old Testament to the New Testament, Heaven’s court is mentioned throughout.

Daniel 7:9-10 says this…

“I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was
white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, its
wheels a burning fire; a fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him. A thousand
thousands ministered to Him; ten thousand times ten thousands stood before Him. The court was
seated and the books were opened.”

This vision is a manifestation of God the Father’s splendor and the judgment.

Revelation 4 and 5 also illuminates the Throne Room of Heaven…

“…behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet
speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after
this.’”—Revelation 4:1

The writing explains the majesty of God the Father’s appearance and further discusses the scrolls
being opened, revealing what is to come.

All of these actions take place within the courts of Heaven. Many Christians steer clear of
the book of Revelation and passages similar to Daniel mentioned above. Some claim we
can’t understand it, or there is too much symbolism.

But we need to remember what Jesus said…

“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I
have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to
you.”—John 15:15

Being a friend of God means that He reveals Himself to us—His thoughts and His plans—
through the Holy Spirit. For this reason, we can understand what those passages mean about His
courts, throne, authority, instruction, and prayer.

They bring clarity to the fact that, as Believers, we have access to this place in the spiritual
realm. We have been granted the right to boldly approach Him, because of the blood of Jesus.
We can then petition and become intercessors.

4
Some argue this is in efforts to “change God’s mind.” It is clearly not about changing the mind
of God, it is about having such an intimate relationship with Him that we can approach Him, and
at the same time humbly grasp His sovereignty and authority. It’s all about seeing the need to
follow His protocol so that we can be used by Him to accomplish His will.

Does Satan have legal rights on earth?

After the fall, sin entered the world. We have a choice to follow God and His authority or to go
our own way and fall into temptation from the enemy. The fall allowed Satan to have access to
this world.

Let’s look how God’s Word describes this…

 “…the ruler of this world…”—John 12:31

 “…the prince of the power of the air…”—Ephesians 2:2
 “…the god of this world…”—2 Corinthians 4:4
 “…the whole world is in the power of the evil one…”—1 John 5:19

Throughout the book of Job, we see the limited nature of Satan’s power. God limited the
enemy’s affliction on Job.

Yesterday I introduced a subject the Courts of heaven. Today let us proceed by looking at the
following scripture..

Daniel 7:9-10 …

“I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was
white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, its
wheels a burning fire; a fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him. A thousand
thousands ministered to Him; ten thousand times ten thousands stood before Him. The court was
seated and the books were opened.”

The above scripture describes process of converging in the Court of heaven. God almighty is the
Judge dressed in royal apparel and seated on the throne. The Court is before the throne where the
Almighty sits.

Three Realms of Prayer…

1). Approaching God as Father, opens the throne of Grace.

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to
help in time of need.”—Hebrews 4:16

2). Approaching God as Friend, and stepping into the place of the counsel of the Lord.

5
“And He said to them, ‘Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to
him, “Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I
have nothing to set before him”; and he will answer from within and say, “Do not trouble me;
the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you?” I say
to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his
persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.’”—Luke 11:5-8

3). Approaching God as Judge, opens the dimension of the courts of Heaven.

“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose
heart, saying: ‘There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now
there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, “Get justice for me from my
adversary.” And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, “Though I do
not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her
continual coming she weary me.”’ Then the Lord said, ‘Hear what the unjust judge said. And
shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long
with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man
comes, will He really find faith on the earth?’”—Luke 18:1-8

The power of prayer in the courts of Heaven

Believers, knowing the heart of God, are to come before the Judge and pray in three realms
of prayer. He desires to be merciful and He wants us to approach Him, to seek and proclaim His
mercy for others.

“When you step into these three dimensions you are not approaching God with a prayer list. You
are stepping into a spiritual sphere where you and God begin to move things in the spirt that
shifts things in the earth.”—Robert Henderson

What is a Petition?
From Webster’s online dictionary a petition is;

1. A formal written request made to an authority or organized body (such as a court)

2. A written request or call for change signed by many people in support of a shared
cause or concern
3. An earnest request : ENTREATY
Therefore when we approach God as a father…

1. When we approach God as Our Father which art in Heaven;

6
which of you being a father if your son asks for bread would you give him a stone? If you being
evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more would the Heavenly father
give His children that ask him? So when we come to God the Father it is for our own needs.

The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my
husband is dead, and you know that he revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take
my two boys as his slaves.”
2
Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”

“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”
3
Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a
few. 4 Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and
as each is filled, put it to one side.”
5
She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she
kept pouring. 6 When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”

But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
7
She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and
your sons can live on what is left.” (2nd Kings 4:1-7)

The woman had seen the husband rely on God for daily provision and sustenance. The man of
God died and left the family in debts. The creditors came for her sons. She went before a man of
God. Kindly take keen of the language “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he
revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves”

The petitioning language touched the heart of Elijah the prophet to command a miracle. May
God grant your petition this afternoon. Your labor in the vineyard of God is not in vain… Let the
book of chronicles be opened today for somebody this afternoon.

2. When approaching God as Friend: Vs 5- 8 Which of you would say to a friend who comes to
you at midnight and if you cannot help him so the friend gets up and asks another friend? An
example of intercession. So when we approach God as friend we are appealing to him for the
needs of another.

Juda entreating for Benjamin before Joseph

“Then our father said, ‘Go back and buy a little more food.’ 26 But we said, ‘We cannot go
25

down. Only if our youngest brother is with us will we go. We cannot see the man’s face unless
our youngest brother is with us.’

“Your servant my father said to us, ‘You know that my wife bore me two sons. 28 One of them
27

went away from me, and I said, “He has surely been torn to pieces.” And I have not seen him

7
since. 29 If you take this one from me too and harm comes to him, you will bring my gray head
down to the grave in misery.’
30
“So now, if the boy is not with us when I go back to your servant my father, and if my father,
whose life is closely bound up with the boy’s life, 31 sees that the boy isn’t there, he will
die. Your servants will bring the gray head of our father down to the grave in sorrow. 32 Your
servant guaranteed the boy’s safety to my father. I said, ‘If I do not bring him back to you, I will
bear the blame before you, my father, all my life!’
33
“Now then, please let your servant remain here as my lord’s slave in place of the boy, and let
the boy return with his brothers. 34 How can I go back to my father if the boy is not with me? No!
Do not let me see the misery that would come on my father.”

Juda stepped forward and petitioned for Benjamin before Joseph.. the words broke the heart of
Joseph who wept loudly …

I urge somebody here to entreat on behalf of the family members who have been caught up be
the devil in sicknesses, madness, infirmities, alcoholics, depression etc. I pray that your case will
be determined with the urgency it deserves. Just as Joseph loosed Benjamin I decree somebody’s
child, relative is being loosed in Jesus name.

3. Our God as a Judge (Isa 33:22 For the LORD is our judge; the LORD is our lawgiver;
the LORD is our king; he will save us.)

When we are dealing with an adversary who is resisting God’s purposes in the Earth not just out
of our needs. The woman who keeps asking 2 Kings 5 And there was a great famine in Samaria,
as they besieged it, until a donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and the fourth part
of a kab[a] of dove's dung for five shekels of silver. 26 Now as the king of Israel was passing by on
the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, “Help, my lord, O king!” 27 And he said, “If
the LORD will not help you, how shall I help you? From the threshing floor, or from the
winepress?” 28 And the king asked her, “What is your trouble?” She answered, “This woman said
to me, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’ 29 So we
boiled my son and ate him. And on the next day I said to her, ‘Give your son, that we may eat
him.’ But she has hidden her son.” 30 When the king heard the words of the woman, he tore his
clothes—now he was passing by on the wall—and the people looked, and behold, he had
sackcloth beneath on his body— 31 and he said, “May God do so to me and more also, if the head
of Elisha the son of Shaphat remains on his shoulders today.”

The women went before the King for a solution concerning the famine. But God being a Judge
he provided a solution through beggars….

8
Secondly, you must Get your book open. That’s where the purpose for your life (Psalm 49:16)
is written. The three things that open the books:

1. True worship,
2. timing and
3. tears of intercession

These three things open the books. Without the books being opened you don’t know what the
purpose for anyone or anything is. Daniel 7:10: The court was seated and the books were open
and they began to present cases out of their books. Prophetically discern what is written in those
books about a situation.

Thirdly we must know God’s purpose for ourselves or the city or organisation that we are
interceding for. Isaiah: 43. Once you know the purpose you hold God to it. Put God in
remembrance of it. So when I present cases according to His purposes you are coming to
prophetic understanding of what’s been written in the books. Your needs are not written in that
book, your purpose is.

Fourthly, We prophetically move in agreement with Heaven. Rev. 19:10. This glorious Being
showed up and John starts to worship him. The Being says, don’t worship me. I am a fellow
servant and I have the testimony of Jesus which is prophecy. It was not an angel. It was a part of
the great cloud of witnesses who knew who he was as having the hope of Jesus in his being and
releasing testimony.

The Anti-Christ spirit denies and diminishes who Jesus is and who we are in Jesus. This enemy
keeps us pressed down from knowing who we truly are. If we knew who we are we would
change the world. Christ the hope of glory in you, you would change the world because Greater
is he that is in us than he who is in the world. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Testimony: that which is giving judicial witness. The testimony that Jesus is currently releasing

9
from his position as mediator, High Priest and intercessor releasing presently before the throne of
God in the Courtrooms of Heaven.

Deut 19:15. God can only render verdicts based on the testimony of two or three witnesses. So
even though Jesus is rendering testimony, God has to have corroborating witnesses agreeing with
Jesus’ testimony before judgements can be rendered based on that testimony. So we need to
come into agreement with what Jesus is saying in the Court of Heaven and come into agreement
with that so that it can be manifested. What you bind on earth must be bound in heaven. We that
are in the earth realm have a revelation of what’s going on in the heavenly realm and when we
agree with it, heaven comes to earth. John 5:19. I only do what I see the Father do.

Let us examine the following scripture;

(John 5: 6) When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he
saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The invalid had been in that CASE for a long time.
Where there is a case there is a person either an accuser or a conspirator ….

Secondly the invalid was brought to the pool by destiny helpers who could not wait for his
breakthrough but left him on his own… who are these that helped you halfway and forgot about
you.

Anytime he was about to get his breakthrough … another person stepped ahead of him…

You realize anytime you want to be promoted …. Something happens that leave you in that
state…

Anytime you want to buy land, married, build a house somebody else steps ahead of you..

In Jesus name I pray that the Lord himself will appear for your case..

10
Secondly the scripture below highlights another case

7
In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast
Pur (that is, the lot), before Haman [a]to determine the day and the [b]month, [c]until it fell on
the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.
8
Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “THERE IS A CERTAIN PEOPLE SCATTERED AND
DISPERSED AMONG THE PEOPLE IN ALL THE PROVINCES OF YOUR
KINGDOM; THEIR LAWS ARE DIFFERENT FROM ALL OTHER PEOPLE’S, AND THEY
DO NOT KEEP THE KING’S LAWS. THEREFORE IT IS NOT FITTING FOR THE KING
TO LET THEM REMAIN. 9 IF IT PLEASES THE KING, LET A DECREE BE WRITTEN
THAT THEY BE DESTROYED, AND I WILL PAY TEN THOUSAND TALENTS OF
SILVER INTO THE HANDS OF THOSE WHO DO THE WORK, TO BRING IT INTO THE
KING’S TREASURIES.”
10
So the king took his signet ring from his hand and gave it to Haman, the son of Hammedatha
the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews. 11 And the king said to Haman, “The money and the
people are given to you, to do with them as seems good to you.”
12
Then the king’s scribes were called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and a decree was
written according to all that Haman commanded—to the king’s satraps, to the governors
who were over each province, to the officials of all people, to every province according to its
script, and to every people in their language. In the name of King Ahasuerus it was written, and
sealed with the king’s signet ring. 13 And the letters were sent by couriers into all the king’s
provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, little children
and women, in one day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar,
and to plunder their [d]possessions.

Because of Modercai – Haman was determined to wipe away all the Jews. Through sorcery he
influenced the decisions of the King who wrote a decree (judgement) to have all Jews
exterminated.

Messengers were given the decree to be disseminated across the entire kingdom.

What is a case?

1. In law, a case is a trial or other legal inquiry.

2. an instance of a particular situation; an example of something occurring.
3. an instance of a disease, injury, or problem.

In heaven there types of cases;

a) Personal- where an individual sins against God or a case of wicked men conspiring to
harm an individual. Haman was determined to Harm Mordecai
b) Family – Hosea 7:1 I would have healed Israel…..
c) Communal like the case of Haman and Mordecai

11
d) National where Judgement is passed over a nation like Nineveh
e) Global – The Case of Noah and the flood

Looking at Jesus as an advocate we need to plead against evil legislations and judgements that
have been passed against us knowingly or unknowingly. When Mordecai learned of the decree
he put on sackcloth and wailed at the gate of the palace. Witches and Satanists have passed evil
embargos, judgments against us and we need to plead to God the true Judge.

Cases can manifest in the following forms;

a) Incurable sicknesses that keep on recurring in the family line

b) Negative family patterns ..eg delay in marriage, early divorce, early widowhood,
separation, fighting, miscarriages, issues of blood, debts, limits in family etc
c) Homicides and suicides
d) Premature death and almost all deaths occur in particular months, days.. Haman cast Purr
for a whole year until it fell on 13th Dec. There are families where certain months are evil
and others are good.. God never intended so.
e) Absolute rejection

Knowledge is power to win the case

Daniel
Dan 9:1 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the lineage of the Medes, who was
made king over the realm of the Chaldeans— 2 in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood
by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the LORD through Jeremiah the
prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Daniel understood the Judgement of Babylonian captivity was to last 70 years. Once you have
knowledge you have power. In winning any case you need good evidence. Knowledge is
evidence against Satan. Daniel had evidence and presented the case before the Supreme judge of
the universe. A verdict was made and Israel captivity came to an end. Without knowledge you
can’t wage effective warfare.
Mordecai

12
Mordecai had knowledge. Knowledge is accurate information. He knew the amount of money
Haman had paid in the Kings treasury. He knew that a decree had been written and couriers sent
to distribute the degree.
He was aware of the contents of the decree; to kill, destroy, and annihilate the entire Jewish
nation.
Mordecai and Esther came from the tribe of Benjamin while Haman came from the tribe of
Amalek. He was a descent King Agag whom the Lord commanded Saul the Benjamite to utterly
destroy. Saul played games and spared Agag. Haman had this information that Saul wiped out
his tribe. It was time for Haman to revenge for the blood of his tribesmen. Understand your
family history. What is it that your fathers did that is still haunting you? What Saul left undone
came to haunt his generation 16 generations later. If you miss your divine assignment it will still
haunt your generations later.
Esther 3:13-15

13
And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause
to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the
thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a
prey.
14
The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto
all people, that they should be ready against that day.
15
The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in
Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was
perplexed.

There is no victory to worn without proper information.

Testimony
My child tested sickle cell positive at the age of four. It came as a surprise because none of us
carried sickler traits. The pain and agony of the disease denied us peace for some time. One day
while carrying out deliverance, demons shouted at me.. “You are rebuking us yet we have
attacked your child”. I was shocked but I dug on for a little while. I discovered witches at my
work place, from my family and my wife’s family contributed three million shillings to sale the
soul of my daughter. The agreement was sickle cell in return. With this information I waged
warfare for my child. I testify that God has been gracious. The HB rose from 7 to 12 and my
daughter has been and remained health till this day. Without information it would have been
difficult to wage this warfare.
Esther
She knew a decree had been written. The king was unable to rewrite the decree he issued but
Esther pleaded with the King ..” let another law be written to counter..”

13
Esther 8:

3Now Esther spoke again to the king, fell down at his feet, and implored him with tears to
counteract the evil of Haman the Agagite, and the scheme which he had devised against the
Jews. 4And the king held out the golden scepter toward Esther. So Esther arose and stood before
the king, 5and said, “If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight and the
thing seems right to the king and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to revoke the letters
devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to annihilate the Jews
who are in all the king’s provinces. 6For how can I endure to see the evil that will come to my
people? Or how can I endure to see the destruction of my countrymen?”

7Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and Mordecai the Jew, “Indeed, I have given Esther
the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he tried to lay his hand
on the Jews.

8You yourselves write a decree concerning the Jews, [a]as you please, in the king’s name, and
seal it with the king’s signet ring; for whatever is written in the king’s name and sealed with the
king’s signet ring no one can revoke.”

It was not enough to kill Haman. But the decree to revoke the first decree was to be written. The
King granted Esther the powers to write the decree.

Colossians 2

, 14having wiped out (cancelled) the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which
was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15Having
disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in
it.

Jesus has given us power to rewrite the Law. Cancel all laws working against you in the Court of
heaven and write or issue new decrees. Yes the said;

a) You wont marry.. I will marry and have a stable family

b) You wont go far. .. I will go far

14
c) You wont be blessed .. I am blessed
d) You wont drive .. I will drive, I will fly
e) You will die.. I will live to declare the goodness of God
f) You wont build .. I will build and dwell therein
g) You wont study .. I will graduate with a PHD

The list is endless.. Continue issuing new decrees in the Court of heaven.

The Courts of Heaven

Compiled by Lilian Schmid from Robert Henderson and Ian Clayton writings on the subject.
Why go to a Heavenly Court
Have you been praying for years on a matter without seeing circumstances change? Have you
been robbed
of something and you don’t seem to be experiencing justice? Then maybe it is time you looked
into having
your case heard in the courtroom of heaven. Below are some initial thoughts and principles for
accessing
heaven’s court. It is not something to be done lightly, but with due diligence and prayer. I
encourage you to
look into this further.
Who Do We Come Before
Our Father in Heaven has many roles and we approach him differently as to which role He is
fulfilling at that
particular moment. When God is in court as our judge, we come before Him in awe. The truth is
that God
judges out of love. He is a God of love.
Petition the Courts of Heaven
• The Holy Spirit may specifically invite us to bring a particular matter to the courts of
heaven. This may come as an impression or arise out of our realising that we need
something settled.
• We may simply find ourselves brought to the courts of heaven, eg in a vision.
• Faith is the currency for the court of heaven.

15
• Ask the Holy Spirit to show you which matters are to be brought to the courts of heaven,
when and with whom. He is our paráklētos, “who intercedes on our behalf as an advocate
in court”. We come to seek the intervention of God as our Judge.
• As a judge, He will determine present circumstances and answers to our prayers under the
governmental system of heaven.
• There is a difference between a prayer and a petition. Prayer covers all aspects of requests.
A petition is defined as a formal written request to a court requesting judicial action on a
certain matter ie petition in prayer is a legal presentation before the Judge, requesting a
verdict from Heaven’s Court.
• Hebrews 4:13-16, Luke 18:1-8, Ephesians 6:18
Make your petition specific by asking:
• In what areas are you seeking justice?
• What results are you specifically seeking?
• On what basis? Is there legal precedent through God’s word?
• What adversary is preventing you from receiving justice?
• Whom are you seeking justice for?

Intercession:
(Representing Others in the Courts of Heaven)
• A high priest is one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the
heavens. Hebrews 7:24-26
• We all have direct access to the Holy Spirit who lives to intercede for us in the courts of
heaven.
• The Holy Spirit seeks those on earth who will stand before God on behalf of others to
discern, identify and bring the legal accusations of the enemy under the blood of Christ
and invite his rule in their region, nation etc.
• You are a Lawyer in heaven’s sight. The word “intercessor” is actually another word for this

16
profession. The Holy Spirit is the greatest intercessor ever. He lives in you. He intercedes
through you with groanings too deep for words.
• As a lawyer, you are called to organize your case, and present your case before His Throne.
That’s what a lawyer does, at the invitation of the Judge. Further, through the precious
blood of Jesus, your vindication has already been secured.
Court Room Etiquette:
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what to do in the courts of heaven.
When we enter a court room on earth, there are certain requirements/etiquette to express honour
and
maintain atmosphere of respect, order, security and awe. We are responsible to engage protocol.
• We dress appropriately.
• We are prepared & ready.
• We stand in respect when the Judge enters/leaves.
• We are required to bow to the magistrate or judge.
• We sit and be silent until we have permission to speak.
• You address the Judge honourably as ‘Your Honour’.
• We direct all remarks to the bench not to the opposition.
• We are uncompromisingly ethical.
• We ask for a verdict/ruling in our favour.
• We don’t continue any arguments when the case is over but respect the Judge’s ruling.
Like a courtroom on earth, we follow the above requirements/etiquette the same in the courtroom
of
heaven.
• Ask Jesus to deal with anything ungodly in you before you enter.
The Courts of Heaven
• We enter God’s court rooms, where He sits in judgement to hear and respond to our
prayers. When we step into God’s court room we bow in deep awe and reverence before
the holy righteousness of God. We are silent until we have permission to speak.

17
• Isaiah 43:26“let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.”
• Your Judge is the Ancient of Days because many of the “justice issues” we face personally
and regionally are generational. They are the by-product of misguided choices from
previous generations. As the Ancient of Days, God sees all days and can render judgment
to deliver you from the encroachment of generational bondages.
• God will review your case. When the court sits, the books, or scrolls, are opened. God will
review your petition in light of the past, present and future. You can ask Him to review the
scroll of your “Book of Life”—including past generations, to annul covenants with death
and darkness that have given access to demonic powers holding your bloodline captive.
• Always be specific and always ask for a verdict in your favour.
Facing the Accuser:
• When we enter the court room we may have to face the accuser, who does the work of a
prosecutor in the heavenly court system. He is at work before God day and night and will
seize on anything not covered by the blood of Christ and use it as legal ground for
legitimate accusations against us that block our access to the mercy of God.
• The sin identified by the accuser may be ours or associated with the request we bring. For
example there may have been a covenant, oath, bondage made in previous generations of
a family that give legitimate access to the enemy. The enemy’s accusations should not lead
us to feel unworthy and turn away from God’s mercy. Use the accusation as useful
conviction of sin and surrender these matters quickly to Christ.
• God will not force our will or override legally binding vows, contracts or covenants that we
have made, or that have been made on our behalf by previous generations of our family
etc.
God’s Rapid Judgement:
• God is longing to grant mercy so, once legal objections are dealt with, He will rule
immediately.
• There is no need for plea and argument before God in his court room. We simply hand him
our need and circumstance, seeking his perspective and ruling. As Jesus said in the parable

18
of Luke 18:8, God will “see that she gets justice, and quickly.”
• When God has ruled on a matter in the court room we do see rapid outcomes on earth.
• As in earthly courts, a supplicant subjects themself to the decision of the court. We must
abide by God’s decision – even though it may not be what we anticipated.
The Courts of Heaven
Leaving the Court Room:
• Etiquette in an earthly court room requires lawyers to face the judge, bowing as we leave.
Similarly, as we leave the heavenly court room, we seek the face of our God to
acknowledge with honour and gratitude our faith in his vindication and blessings.
• We will not feel the need to pray on the matter anymore – we can now leave this with
God.
Prophetic Activations / Exercises to Incorporate into Your Week
The purpose of these exercises is to help us hear God’s voice in a clearer manner. They sharpen
our senses
to hear and recognise God’s voice and His way of communicating with us. This enables us to
grow in our
relationship with God and also to impart to others what God tells us for them. Feel free to use as
many of
these activations each week as you can. The more you practice, the sharper you become at
hearing God’s
voice. Enjoy!
Remember that whenever you give another person a prophetic word or picture etc., please make
sure that
it is encouraging, edifying (strengthening) and comforting (1 Corinthians 14:3)
1. Children / Families Activation: Have paper and crayons/pencils/textas handy. Ask everyone
to close their eyes and imagine they are at a park with Father God. Get them to ask God
which area of the park He wants to take them to and play with them. Get them to ask
Father God to tell or show them something that He would like them to know. Explain that
when they are ready, they can open their eyes and draw where on the park they were with

19
God. Encourage them to share or write what it was that Father God told or shared with
them.
2. Group Activation: Have people pair up. Give everyone a minute to ask God what fancy
dress outfit He would love to dress their partner in and why. Just go with the first image
that comes to mind. Ask God to explain why that image. After a minute, share with your
partner.
3. Beginner Activation: Imagine a plane flying overhead with a banner trailing behind it. Look
at the banner – what has God written on it just for you? Why? Look again, what has God
written on it for someone else? Why and whom has He written it for?
4. Intermediate Activation: Sometime this week go into a clothing shop, and ask God to
highlight an item of clothing. Go up to that item and touch it. Prophesy over that article of
clothing and the person who is going to buy it. Speak God into their life and decree and
declare favour, goodness, integrity etc over the person who buys this article of clothing.
5. Advanced Activation: Open a newspaper and ask God to highlight a headline to you. Ask
God whom the statement in the headline applies to and why? Prophesy/decree it over that
person. Then read the newpaper article that the headline applies to. Ask God to show you
what He would have you pray re that subject. Decree and declare what God has shown
you.

Types of “Courts” in the Courts of Heaven
The Courts of Heaven operate similar to the legal system we see on Earth.
Because of all the injustices happening in the world, God is releasing new revelation about
gaining justice
through the Courts of Heaven. The Cross of Christ is our verdict but there are times we need to
enforce this
by entering into the justice system of God. We operate in the Courts of Heaven through prayer
and an
intimate relationship with the Lord.

20
And just like here on Earth, there is more than one type of court in the Courts of Heaven. You
might be
wondering: which ones are accessible to us?
God is releasing new revelation about gaining justice through the Courts of Heaven
There are many different types of Courts mentioned in the Bible. Here are just a few that can
help you
understand and get started:
1. The Court of Mediation (Reconciliation)
“Settling outside of court” in the Court of Mediation should always be our first step in the
process of gaining
justice.
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given
us the
ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18 NKJV
2. Court of Petition
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present
your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 NIV
We already operate in the Courts of Heaven when we bring our prayers and petitions to the Lord.
Notice
that Paul says we need to do it with thankfulness and not a spirit of revenge.
3. The Throne of Grace
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and
find grace to
help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16 NIV
Our interactions with the Lord in the Courtroom of Heaven are centered around prayer and
intimacy. It is
important to approach the Lord with grace and mercy toward others and ourselves. We need to
know and
have God’s heart of love (1 John 4:8).
4. The Court of Mount Zion

21
The Throne of Grace and the Court of Petitions are linked to this court system. Most all your
interactions
take place here.
But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You
have come to
thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose
names are
written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made
perfect, to
Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than
the blood of
Abel. Hebrews 12:22–24 NIV
Throughout the Bible, Mount Zion is a place of God’s justice and judgment. This best describes
the Courts of
Heaven and how we can approach the Lord.

5. The Court of the Accuser
There are several verses in the Bible that show Satan accusing people in the Courts. The main
one is:
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has
been hurled
down. Revelation 12:10 NIV
It is very important for us to not operate in the court of the accuser. It is best to learn to operate
in a spirit of
forgiveness and reconciliation.
6. Court of the Ancient of Days (Supreme Court)
The highest court in Heaven is the Ancient of Days court. This is equivalent to the Supreme
Court in the U.S.
As I looked, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. … The court was
seated, and the
books were opened. Daniel 7:9–10 NIV

22
This is the highest level court and you cannot go in. You can be taken in through visions and
dreams, but this
is not a place to present your case.
Which Court Do You Go In?
There are other Courts of Heaven that require greater understanding to operate in, but these are
the basic
ones that are safe to operate in:
• The Court of Petitions
• The Throne of Grace
• The Court of Mount Zion
• The Court of Mediation
Always ask the Lord’s permission before operating in the Courts of Heaven.
Remember to mediate your case first and settle outside of the Courts of Heaven whenever
possible, so we
aren’t unnecessarily clogging up the heavenly courtrooms.
An amazing story is told in Daniel, chapter 10, about the prophet Daniel’s perseverance in
prayer. As Daniel
prayed over a period of 21 days, the Scriptures tell us there was raging conflict in the second
heavens as the
enemy tried to resist the answer to Daniel’s prayer.
Many people view prayer from the perspective of Daniel the intercessor’s story. And in our
prayer lives we at
times can feel like we are slugging it out with “second heavens” warfare, not realizing that we, as
New
Testament believers, have an advantage that not even Daniel had.
The BIG NEWS is that, as new covenant believers, we have been given a whole different level
of access
before what the Scriptures call the throne of grace, and have been told we can come boldly
before that third
heaven throne room to obtain mercy and grace to help whenever we need to. (Hebrews 4:16)
We need to realize certain kinds of prayer such as petition and intercession best occur not on a
battlefield

23
but in a court room. They directly pertain to the setting and processes that occur before the courts
of
heaven and can literally be viewed as legal transactions before the Judge of all the universe.
The Protocol of Heaven is a Court Room
Protocol in a court room is different than the battlefield. Too many times we haven’t bothered to
get legal
things in place first so we can get breakthrough instead of backlash.
The Courts of Heaven
With that in mind, let’s look at this well-known parable about prayer from Luke 18:1-8 (NKJV):
Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying:
“There was in a
certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city;
and she came
to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but
afterward he said
within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I
will avenge
her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’”
Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect
who cry out
day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them
speedily.”
