Loglines
A young boy is convinced that he will not be able to take

college anymore but things change as an unexpected event
happens.
A young man restores his brother’s faith on himself that

he can also graduate and achieve his dreams despite of
intellectual and social challenges.
Synopsis
Mark, 15-year-old boy wants to study and become an

architect someday but he knows that he might not be able
to attend college anymore. His father needs his help in
the farm. They have to work harder because the family is
saving money to renovate their house that was recently
washed down by a typhoon. Also, his brother Denver, an
engineering student, needs the money for his board exam
review. Denver has it better. Since he is more
academically inclined, he had the privilege to study.
Mark on the other hand has to find funds and has to
change his father's thoughts in order for Him to attend
college. Denver, being the older brother, felt that he
has the responsibility to make ends meet for his brother
Characters
Denver - A young and driven student

who has the capabilities but lacks the
resources. He is shy but hardworking,
barely talking. He is focused on what
he wants.
Mark - Denver’s younger brother. He is

not so academically inclined. He has no
choice but to help his father in the
fields. He sees his brother as a role
model.
Norman - Denver’s father. A farmer.
Rachel - Denver’s Mother. She

accepts laundry from her
neighbors. She is loud and
always whining but is ready to
do anything for her children.
Set Inspirations
SENTENCE OUTLINE
1. Mark and Denver’s house was washed down by a
typhoon.They have to find home in the streets while
waiting for the renovation of their house.
2. At school Mark was made fun by his classmates because
of not answering in class and because of his smell. He
has not been able to take showers liberally because of
the limitations in their temporary house.
3. He eventually developed his fear for people and
constantly locked himself alone, not eating.
4. Their father asked Mark to stop going to school for a
while to give way for his brother’s financial needs for
his board exam.
5. Convinced that he is not gifted liked his brother,
Mark set aside his dream and focused on helping his
father in the fields instead.
6. Denver on the other hand continued his dream. Carrying
the weight of his family, he is determined to be a
licensed engineer. He devoted all his time studying for
the exam.
7. As the result of the exam was released, Denver paused
for a moment. He recalled all the hardships he had
undergone as he hear an unexpected news.

The storm has already passed. The house is left on the
ground. Denver can be seen picking his things for school.
Rachel is sweeping the debris left by the typhoon.
DENVER
Kasanu tay ita manen?
Stares at the house on the ground.
RACHEL
(troubled)Intay to pela makiturog ken manang Ruby jay
bangir nga barangay.
Denver does not respond. He still is traumatized by the
typhoon. He picks up another paper from his bag, all wet.
RACHEL
Darsen yo dita, aldawen.
2. INT. TEMPORARY HOUSE ON THE STREET. EVENING

The family is eating dinner with their hands. The room is
only lit by a kerosene lamp. Everyone is still adapting
with the new environment.
NORMAN
(stares at the middle of nowhere)Nagmalas met a biagen,
nu haan nga nakapudpudot, sobra met ti tudo na. Sabali a
talaga ti pananwenen. Kaasi ti mannalon nu kastuy.
RACHEL
Bay-amun a, ti importante sibibiag tayo pay. Nakasaritak
ni manang Ruby itay. Sumrek nak pela a para laba da tun
Lunes. Imbag la adda igatang ti sidaen.
NORMAN
Nasayaat kuma nu baybayadan naka ti usto deta kasinsin
mo. Nu kasta la unay ti panang tagi bassit na ti pamilya
tayo.
Everyone is silent
Denver
Tang balak ko agexam tun umay a bulan.
RACHEL
Gastos la deta nu makaturpos ni Mac-mac, ni Denver ti
namnama.
RACHEL
Nu kasta kasapulan gayam nga mara-epan amin tuy talon
tayo. Agsardeng ka pay laeng Mac ta tulungan nak jay
talon.

3. INT. CLASSROOM. MORNING. (BOARD EXAM SCENE)

The room is silent. There is almost no sound of
calculators clicking. A troubled look is evident on
Denver’s face.
4. INT. ROOM. EVENING. (PHONE CALL SCENE)
DENVER
Kumusta kayo dita?

his face)
RACHEL
