QUESTIONING TOOL
Questions to probe the candidate’s underpinning knowledge Satisfactory
response
YES NO
1. Why is it that pest control measures is important?
 Pest control is essential for the well-being of human health
and ecology. Damage caused by pests can also affect the
economy, considering how dangerous these species are for
housing properties and agriculture.
2. What are the modern pest control methods?
 The modern pest control methods are biological pest
control method and mechanical pest control method.
3. What is mechanical pest control method?
 Mechanical control is simply using devices, traps,
machines or other physical methods to control or alter the
environment where the pest may be found.
4. What is top dressing method of applying fertilizer?
 Top dressing is the broadcasting of fertilizers particularly
nitrogenous fertilizers in closely sown crops like paddy and
wheat, with the objective of supplying nitrogen in readily
available form to growing plants.

5. When tools and equipment to be prepared are insufficient, what

should you do?
 Inform the trainer out rightly in order to find ways and
means to carry-out the activity.
6. Supposing you destroyed a tool/equipment while performing
cultivation, what will you do?
 Report the incident to the trainer to make necessary repairs
or replacement.
7. How do you perform watering of crops?
 When it comes to watering, there are no hard or fast rules.
It's a judgment call that depends on the type of plant, the
soil, the weather, the time of year and many other
variables. Fortunately, it's easy to figure out what to do —
even for a teenager on a hot summer day. You just need to
check the soil. If you're working in a nursery, you lift each
pot before you water. Over time, you get to know how heavy
a pot should feel if the soil inside the pot is thoroughly
moistened. If it's not heavy enough, you water slowly until
all the soil in the pot is moist and water runs out the
bottom. Then you lift the pot again to check that it feels
right.

that need to be considered to ensure its success. Both
knowledge and skills are needed to properly handle and
accomplish pruning tasks. It is important to carry out
proper pruning methods to maintain plant health and
improve the quality of flowers or foliage. Incorrect
pruning causes damage ranging from minor to major
ones, depending on the species of plants and their health
at the time of pruning.

9. Are you aware of the general farm tool safety?

 SAFETY- keeping tools in good working condition + ability
and awareness of the person using the tools.
