I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:


• Differentiate comprehensively the different sports injuries,
• identify correctly the cause of every sports injury, and
• explain thoroughly the value of optimizing one’s health through participation in physical
activity assessment.

2. Motivation
 Let the students enjoy a 2 minutes of good stretch.
 Ask the students to share about their experiences regarding accidents or about injuries
they had experienced or witnessed.
 Encourage students to participate in the class.

b) Developmental Activities

1. Activities

“WORD GAME”
 In a letter arrangement game, the goal is to form words out of given letters.
 The student who got to discover the word first will choose who among his/her
classmate will explain or give an idea about the word.
 This activity will be done in 10 minutes.

• Discuss the following terms: Injury, tensile force, compressive force, shear force, acute
injuries and its types, chronic injuries and its types, and risk and factors of injuries.
• Ask students to share their knowledge about the terms.
• Recall the informations about the discussion to ensure that students are paying
attention.

4. Application
 Group your students into 3. Each group will pick a number and those numbers has their
corresponding questions.
1. How will you differentiate acute injuries from chronic injuries?
2. Why does a person encounter or experience injury?
3. Is it dangerous to have a physical activity? Why or why not?
