International Students (Graduate)
1. Department and number of recruits
1) No limit on the number of recruits beyond the quota
2) Recruitment eligibility and criteria for each recruitment unit will be determined based
on the results of the department's demand survey

※ All majors are taught in Korean as a basic, and English lectures are available only for supported majors.
※ Korean Language and Literature, Early Childhood Education, Music, and Industrial Design conduct separate
interviews.
※ Only those who have passed Level 3 or higher on the Korean Language Proficiency Test can apply for
Korean Language and Literature, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, and Industrial Design.
※ For the music department, if overseas stay or face-to-face exams are not possible due to the COVID-19
situation, the practical exam will be evaluated by a video (file format: mp4) taken with a personal
camcorder, and the interview will be conducted through a video or oral interview.
※ For the industrial design department (product design), two work portfolios should be submitted by email
and in writing, and a face-to-face/video interview will be conducted in Korean if necessary, with a
maximum of two people.
※ The Department of Fine Arts recruits for master's and doctoral programs in Korean Painting, and only for a m
aster's degree in Western Painting.
※ The industrial design department's product design master's program will recruit a maximum of two people, whil
e there is no recruitment plan for the visual design and craft design majors.
※ The recruitment status and eligibility criteria for each recruitment unit of the joint academic cooperation
program will depend on the general admission unit.
2. Eligibility for application
Classification Eligibility
Individuals with a certain level of proficiency in Korean or English (individuals who possess one or
more of the qualifications below)
1. Individuals who have achieved a level of 3 or above on the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).
2. Individuals who have scored 71 or higher on the TOEFL iBT, 600 or higher on the Test of English
Common
Proficiency developed by Seoul National University (New TEPS 326), 5.5 or higher on the IELTS,
Requirements
B2 or higher on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), or 700 or
higher on the TOEIC.
3. Applicants who have submitted a pledge of admission from a guiding professor at Changwon National
University (for the relevant major).

※ Educational backgrounds such as homeschooling, cyber education, adult education, and qualification exams
are not recognized.
※ Dual citizens cannot apply.
※ Students who are citizens of countries where English is the native language (the United States, the United
Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and Ireland) may apply without being subject to
language proficiency requirements by submitting their final academic transcripts.

※ Applicants from those who have completed the entire academic curriculum must submit their transcripts
or graduation certificates for elementary, middle, high school, and undergraduate programs in addition to
the required documents.
※ Additional documents may be required for qualification assessment.
※ All documents must be submitted in the original form. However, copies may be submitted depending on
the applicant's qualifications.
※ In countries where international postal service is not available due to COVID-19, submission of copies is
allowed, but the original documents must be submitted within a designated period of time. If the
submitted copy and the original are different, the admission may be canceled.
※ Note on Required Documents
1. Applicants must submit all required documents (including those necessary for visa issuance)
according to the list of submitted documents by June 2, 2023 (Fri), and any documents not written
in Korean or English must be accompanied by a Korean or English translation certified by a public
notary.
※ Public notarized documents are valid for up to one year from the date of submission.
※ However, for those currently enrolled in the Korean Language Institute at Changwon National University, the
documents submitted for admission to the Korean Language Institute can be substituted.
2. Those who have obtained a degree from a foreign university must submit proof of their final
academic credentials.
A. Documents to be submitted: Choose one of the following and submit:
1) Educational documents certified by an Apostille
2) Educational documents certified by the Korean embassy in the applicant's country of residence
or the embassy of the applicant's home country in Korea
3) Educational credentials issued by the Education and Degree Verification Center of the Chinese Ministry of Education
(applicable only to those who have obtained Chinese academic degrees)

B. Deadline for submission: June 13, 2023 (Tue). ※ Failure to submit within the deadline may result
in cancellation of admission.
3. Applicants and their parents must submit official documents for parental relationship verification
according to the following:
A. For Chinese applicants: a translated and notarized household register (including both the
applicant and their parent(s)) and a family relationship proof document (notarized).
B. For non-Chinese applicants: a birth certificate or a family relationship proof document (notarized).
C. In the case of parents' divorce or death, additional proof documents (notarized) must be
submitted.
4. For those expecting to obtain a degree, after submitting proof of their expected degree or current
enrollment, they must submit their final degree certificate along with their final academic credentials
by July 31, 2023.
5. Financial proof documents: A balance certificate with a deposit of at least $18,000 in the name of a
guarantor (self, parent, or spouse) is mandatory.
※ It must be issued within 30 days of the date of submission.
※ When submitting a parent’s or spouse’s balance certificate, they must also submit a certificate of
employment or business registration and a pledge document of bearing the cost of study abroad.
※ Scholarship recipients must also submit financial proof documents if their scholarship amount is less
than $18,000 per year.
6. Language proficiency scores are valid for two years from the date of the test, and expired scores
cannot be submitted. (Expiration dates recognized are from May 15, 2023 to June 2, 2023.)
7. Additional documents may be requested for verification of eligibility.
8. Applicants must regularly check their email and the Changwon National University homepage(http://
www.changwon.ac.kr) for updates on the status of their document submission and any missing documents.
9. Applicants for the Department of Fine Arts (excluding Art History) must submit a portfolio and pledge
document when submitting their application.
☞ Portfolio format for the Department of Fine Arts: 5x7 inches, 10 pages
10. The Department of Industrial Design (Product Design) must submit a working portfolio by email
and in print, totaling two copies.
11. The Department of Nursing requires submission of a nursing license.

from application fees.
※ Online application processing fee: KRW 4,000 (to be paid by the applicant).
※ When returning the admission application fee, the online application processing fee
will be deducted before the refund is made.
※ If the applicant's country cannot process online payment due to unavoidable
circumstances, the application fee can be paid through a bank transfer to
Changwon University's account.

7. Applicant Precautions
※ Meal: Weekdays (Mon-Fri) can be chosen individually, and on weekends, meals can be purchased with meal tickets.
※ Public utilities (city gas, sewage, electricity fees) are added and settled according to usage for Residence
Hall 1 Building and 7 Building.
※ It may be subject to change depending on the plan for preventing the spread of COVID-19 and the
recruitment plan for student dormitories.
