Apr 1995 – Present: Principal, Accelerated Solutions Inc.

Accelerated Solutions specializes in the development of PC and Internet database applications.


Customers include TransAlta Utlities, the University of Alberta and Family Care Health Centres.

Apr 2001 – Nov 2001: Contract Pilot, Geographic Air Survey Ltd., Commander 690A

Flew low and high-altitude photo survey missions in a single-pilot IFR environment through
Western and Northern Canada. I had one crewmember (camera operator, included as a
reference) and worked with him each day for the entire period.

Apr 1992 – March 1999: Civil Aviation Inspector, Transport Canada

Duties included operational requirements planning for the TC (now NavCan) air navigation
system, Aerodrome Standards and Certification, and conducting investigations in support of the
Civil AviationRegulatory Enforcement branch. In the later role, I was seconded to Ottawa for a
period of 18 months to develop the prototype for the Enforcement Management System
database, which tracks all enforcement investigations across the country.

I maintained PIC status on the BE-100 King Air and DHC-6 Twin Otter throughout my tenure with
TC.

Apr 1996 – March 2000: Helicopter Pilot - 408 Sqn (Reserve), Edmonton, Alberta

Trained as a helicopter pilot in the tactical helicopter role, training on the Jet Ranger and Griffon
helicopters. Also, developed an intranet database application for flight scheduling.

Feb 1991 – Jun 1994: Pilot - 418 Sqn (Reserve), Edmonton, Alberta

Trained as a pilot in the Search and Rescue role, flying the DHC-6 Twin Otter. Typical training
missions were flown at low level and in mountainous terrain, dropping packages into valleys and
conducting similar exercises.

Apr 1987 – Apr 1990: Base Flight Safety Officer, CFB Summerside, P.E.I.

Conducted the Base Flight Safety programme for CFB Summerside. Duties included conducting
accident and incident investigations and creating safety-related educational programmes.

I maintained PIC status on the CP-121 Tracker during this period.

Apr 1986 – Apr 1987: Pilot, 880 Sqn, CFB Summerside, P.E.I. – CP 121 Tracker
Conducted maritime reconnaissance missions in support of the DND and Department of
Fisheries.

Missions were typically several hours on station, flown at 300’over the ocean, often at night or in
IMC conditions.

Apr 1983 – Dec 1986: Pilot, Base Flight, Cold Lake, Alberta - CT-133 “T-Bird”

Conducted a variety of missions in support of Fighter Group. Duties included Instrument Check
Pilot, Standards Officer, Maintenance Test Pilot and instructor for low-level, high-speed
navigation (typically 100’ – 250’ AGL and 360 – 420 KIAS).
