Lesson Plan

Group 1 ( Beginner): Minh, Phi Hung, Sofia Level 2_ Group 2 : A day of mine
Level 2 (Pre-intermediate ) : Alex and Vivi Learn about activities happening within a day: daily routine
Learn about asking about time
Level 3 (Intermediate ) : Thy
Based on Unit 7 : My Vietnamese 2

Level 1- Group 1 : Vowel: ê, l Level 3- Group 3: Thy learn about telling time. but in reading in the
Review vowel: e, o, ô, a, ơ paragraph- Vietnamese national textbook- Grade 2 - p.g 14-15
Introduce compound words ( combined by letters that they have learned, Learn about using the word: phai= have to do something when talking
for example from l+ ê= lê, l+ a= la - new word: lê la = Crawl around ( baby) about a day of her

Overview: Classroom ritual

1. Whole class: assembling some pictures, then watch the short fable together ( 10 mins)
2. Learning circle 1 (Group 3 learns first, while more minor children review and do some small activities with a partner) (
20 min)
Group 1: color or cut some of the words they have learned before
Group 2: do 1 exercise to review vocabulary
Group 3: learn about the use of the words: have to = phai, then she can do exercises on her own, and help other kids later
3. Learning circle 2 ( Smallest children learn, Group 2 does some activities, group 3 focuses on her work ) ( 20 min)

Group 1: Can start learning about new letters again, learn to put them together to make words and sounds
Group 2: Learn about new words daily activities, can start putting vocabulary to words, match words to the pictures,
assemble the question about time
Group 3: working on her work, break for helping with others
4. Learning circle 3 : ( Group 2 learns, group one breaks for 5 minutes, group 3 can get back to her work again) ( 20 mins)
Group 1: Break for 5 minutes, read books or play cards, no watching, walking around then start learning how to write
Group 2: Assembling the question, learn about time-telling in Vietnamese, can ask other friends questions about their
time-telling
Group 3: Getting back to her work. She can help Group 2 by reading them the story she is reading
5: learning circle 4: The whole class learning about time telling together, learn about telling time in Vietnamese together, and
assemble activities with time (10 mins)
6. Homework distributed, class dismissed

Group 1 : Picture, card with letter , worksheet


Group 2 : Worksheet, telling time clock
Group 3: Worksheet
Reserved activities : pictures to color, card player, Powerpoint games on Twinkle
