4-Drawing Arc in AutoCAD:
The arc is defined as the smooth curve formed by joining two or more
points.The arc of a circle is defined as the portion of the circumference of a
circle.By default, the arc is drawn counter-clockwise. We are required to press
the Ctrl key to change the direction of the arc in the clockwise.
The arc can be drawn by specifying the starting point, center, and the endpoint.
We can also draw an arc by determining the angle, radius, and direction.
We Can access to command Arc by one way of the following:
1. Command Line: Arc or a

2. Menu Bar: Draw----<Arc
3. Draw Bar:
When type Arc on the command line and press enter
The following message appear:
Specify start point of arc or [CEnter]:

Specify second point of arc or [CEnter/ End]:
Specify end point of arc or [ Angle / chord length] :
Specify center point of arc or [Angle/ Direction / Radius]:
Options:
Angle. Draw arc using angle.
Chord Length. Draw arc using chord length

4.1 Types of Arc
The arrow below the arc consists of the drop-

down list specifying the types of arcs. where
AutoCAD provides eleven different ways to
create arcs. The different options are used
based on the geometry conditions of the
design. The list will look like the below
image:
Let's discuss the most usage types of arc.

3 points
Start, Center, End
Start, Center, Angle
Start, End, Radius
Start, Center, Length
Note: Except for 3 point arcs, arcs are drawn in a COUNTERCLOCKWISE

direction, while You can specify a three-point arc either clockwise or
counterclockwise depend on entering points.
4.1.1 Three points
1. Select the Arc icon from the ribbon panel.

Or Type A on the command line and press Enter.
2. Specify the first point of arc:

3.Specify the second point (2) is a point on the circumference of the arc.
4. Specify the final point (3) on the arc.
4.1.2 Start, Center, End

1. Select the Arc icon from the ribbon panel.
Or Type A on the command line and press Enter.
2. Specify the first point of the arc :
3. Specify the center point of the arc.
4. Specify the end point on the arc.
Ex:
Arc
Specify start point of arc or [CEnter]: 4,5
Specify second point of arc or [CEnter/ End]:Ce
Specify Center point of arc : 2.5,6.5
Specify end point of arc or [ Angle / chord length] : 1.5
4.1.3 Start, Center, Angle

Here, first select the starting and then center point, and the third step is the
specified included angle. The arc will be created counter-clockwise from the
start point. We need to hold the Ctrl key to switch the direction of the arc.

4.1.4 Start, End, Radius
The process is shown below:
Specify first point and end point, then specify the radius . The created arc is
shown as in the image. The direction is determined by order of the endpoints.
We can specify the radius by entering the radius value. We can also
determine it by specifying the point at the desired distance.
Example :Draw the flowing Arc

Command: _arc Specify start point of arc or
[Center]: 200,100
Specify second point of arc or [Center/End]: e
Specify end point of arc: 100,200
Specify center point of arc or
[Angle/Direction/Radius]: r
Specify radius of arc: 100
4.1.5 Start, Center, Length

Here, specify starting and center point. The distance between the center point
and the start point determines the radius. Then specify value the chord.
The process is shown below:
Command: a ARC Specify start point of arc

or [Center ] 200,300
Specify second point of arc or [Center/End]: Ce
:Specify center point of arc : 100,120
Specify end point of arc or [Angle/chord Length]: L
Specify length of chord: 50

5 . Rectangle
AutoCAD Provides the Rectangle command, which allows creating rectangles

with perfect corners and as a single object. Access the command by:
1. Command Line: Rectangle, Rec.

2. Menu Bar: Draw---<Rectangle.
3. Draw Bar
When enter command, the program require specify first corner:
Specify first corner point or [Chamfer/ Elevation / Fillet / Thickness / Width]:

Specify other corner Point:
Options:
C: the chamfer command enables to place a chamfer at the rectangle corner. The
distance specify is the distance from the intersection of the two lines (the
corner) to the start of the bevel, or chamfer. You can set the chamfer distance
for the two lines independently.
Specify first chamfer distance for rectangles<0.000>:
Specify second chamfer distance for rectangles<0.000>:
E: identify high of rectangle (this option use in 3D drawings).
Specify the elevation for rectangles<0.000>:
F: the fillet command creates both fillets and rounds on any combination of two
lines, arcs, or circles.
Command: _rectang Specify first corner point or
[Chamfer/Elevation/Fillet/Thickness/Width]: f
Specify fillet radius for rectangles : 5
Specify first corner point or
[Chamfer/Elevation/Fillet/Thickness/Width]:
Specify other corner point or [Area/Dimensions/Rotation]:
T: identify thick of rectangle (this option use in 3D drawings)

Specify thickness rectangles<0.000>:
W: rectangle can have a width (the default width is 0).

Example 1. Draw the Following figure, in board its’ sides are (52×52 m), note the
figure is start from the point (1,1).
