A le%er for your big day!

This letter is for my Megs, on a day when the end of the first part of the process is near.
From the day I met you to now, you have managed to show me almost every side of you.
You have shown me the fun side of you, where we can laugh endlessly, gasping for breath
and wiping the tears off our faces. To the side of you where the tears are not happy tears,
but sad ones, or ones of compassion. Talking about compassion, you have an abundance
of it. The compassion you have influences everyone around you. I can tell just from the
stories I have heard you tell me about what the people in the process think of you and
how you have touched their hearts. Every single side you have shown me has been
beautiful, that is what this letter is about. It is about me telling you how amazing you are,
once again.

As I have said, this process is now ending. After this process, the next challenge begins.
One where you start fresh, walk into life knowing that you have left so much baggage
behind, baggage that has been weighing heavy on your shoulders for years. Walking into
the next chapter of your life noticing and acknowledging the amazing person that you are.
It is about fucking time!

I know that you don't see your own influence or the incredible person you are because
it's disguised in the things you do every day. It's the way you see the world. How you
make me feel when I am in your presence like I matter. Like I am accepted, just as I am.
It's the revolution inside you that says maybe the way things have always been the way
they have to be.

How you're willing to make a new path. To go in a different direction. To follow the call of
your beautiful heart. It's your inner spark that radiates outward and lights up a room. It's
your stubbornness and how you'll never give up on what's most important to you: people,
beliefs, goals, and dreams. You're not fearless, but you're willing to face your fears for the
things that matter, to conquer and overcome these fears. And when the world tells you to
be mean, you lean deeper into kindness, a kindness that I never even knew existed.
When the world tells you not to love, you love harder and stronger than ever before, in all
relationships you are involved in. Cynicism would be easy, but you've never taken the
easy road, which has led you in a direction, a direction to be who you are today. On those
heavy nights when the world is immersed in darkness, you'll still be the last spark of hope.
All this time, you've been searching for magic in the world outside of you, but can't you
see it yet? You are the magic. If I could tell you one thing, I would tell you that you are
worthy.

You're worthy of living a life that feeds your spirit and nourishes your soul. You're worthy
of knowing love and acceptance every single day, in every single way including yourself.
And you're worthy of these deep-rooted dreams and visions inside yourself that you just
can't shake, you're worthy of seeing yourself the way that I see you. You don't need to
alter the core of who you are to be loved because the core of who you are is so amazingly
special, it is the part of you that I fell in love with first. And the right people will see that.
Everyone will feel it. You don't have to convince anyone of anything. You can do this my
Megs. The job. The relationship. Find the thing that feels like love and freedom and truth
and go that way. If I was with you right now, I would tell you that you are a gift, and I'd
beg you not to settle. Or maybe — maybe I wouldn't say anything at all. Maybe your heart
already knows what you need to hear. And maybe all I can do is look you in the eyes and
show you — I see you. And I'm so glad you're here. I've been so desperate to know you.
And I think you're the best thing this universe has ever made. It is about time that you see
that too!
